I was clicking around on TCM and they are showing classic cult films each weekend late night. Some of these movies I have seen before but a few I have never gotten a chance to see.
I'll watch them all in my pink angora sweater, AND NOTHING ELSE!!!

I wonder if they'll edit "Deranged?" It's another of the Ed Gein inspired films of the 1970's...

Actually, I own most if not all of these films, but there's something gratifying about them just showing up on TV, like the good ol' days, when I was a kid & Count Gore ruled the airwaves!!! (Balto. had The Ghost Host, which was embarrassingly cheap, but the movies were top notch Grade B Drive-In fare (The Ghost Host had a HUGE FAKE BEARD so you couldn't see his mouth move and they dubbed in new dialogue over the same video loops week after week)!!!

TMC had some show the other day, I think it was called Blah Blah Blah The History Of The Slasher Film, which I TiVo'ed and havent seen in its entirety but looked good.

They had one part, from the early 80's, where Siskel & Ebert were saying how the slasher films were made to demean women and go against the women's movement. How women are objectified and that these movies are terrible.

The point they missed was that in all of those early slasher films its the woman, not a guy, that winds up being the hero, or heroin I guess, at the end.

While there does seem to be some correaltion between those that are " bad " ( sex, drugs, etc .. ) getting killed and those that are " good " ( virginal, pure, etc ... ) being alive in the end I think its all looked into way too much.

They had some good interviewees like Wes Craven, the mom from Friday The 13th, Rob Zombie put in his 2 cents, some female director of I think the Slumber Party Massacre films.

Seems interesting so I cant wait to see the whole thing.
