This story starts where all my best stories start. I was at work. I was at one of my customer's yesterday, a smokehouse in the Ironbound section of Newark. They make smoked
turkey necks, smoked turkey drumsticks, smoked pork hocks, and smoked
pork neckbones. Sounds delicious, right? So they have an exterminator
there while I'm there. USDA mandates weekly inspection for vermin. Fine
whatever, he does his job, I do mine. That is, until, I discover that
he found a kitten.

It was in one of those cage traps, the "humane" ones. So I go take
a look at it, and he's a tiny, little grey fluffball, and he's dragging
around this big pork neckbone, like twice the size of him, that one of
the workers had put in there for him to eat. So I asked the
exterminator what he was gonna do with him. Mind you, the exterminator
was a really shady, super sketchy, greasy, kid-toucher looking type, so
when he said, "I dunno, take it somewhere and release it, I
guess." What I heard was, "Torture it, then kill it, then kick it
around for a while."

Obviously, I couldn't let this freakazoid walk away with a little
kitty cat in a cage, so I was like, "you know what, "I'll take him."
And I did.

So now I have a little fluffin' headed kitty. I've decided to name
him Neckbone. Every one I've told of the name is horrified, but I like
it, and anyone who doesn't can call him "Bone" for short. So that's it
for little Neckbone. I got a litterbox and litter and some toys for him on my way home from work yesterday. I made an appointment at the vet this afternoon to get him all checked out
and get his shots and everything. I hope there's nothing wrong with him
because he's the cutest ever, look!

He's a little fluffer head. So far his hobbies include hiding behind the toilet and accidentally going under the leaky tub faucet and getting wet head.

Wail til you shell out the dough to spay or neuter and then all the shots. Cat piss is really hard to get out of carpets too... Shall we check back in 6 months to see if your fuzz ball of love is still the apple of your eye? Maybe you should call him "smokey"...

Wow, I appreciate the kind words. I'm well aware of the trials and responsibilities of cat ownership, thanks. And as far as Smokey goes, I thought about naming him that, but then I realized it was fucking gay, so I didn't.
My cat's name was originally Smokey, but I changed it to Leroy.

Leroy in all his glory:

He's a looker. Do you think if you bound him, he would stay that size? Maybe just tie him up at night.

First off, congratulations!!!

He's sooo cute!!!! It's not that expensive to spay or nueter and to get shots, and alot of the times petco will offer shots and vaccinations on certain days for a nicely discounted rate for your new baby, all by a real vet. So look for the ad's they put out in local papers etc. I hope he checks out ok too. Im so happy you heard what you heard when the kid toucher said he would "release him"...yeah, maybe to god. Some people cant be trusted.

Longlive neckbone in all his gray fluffer head beauty and cuteness......

Yaayyy! New daddy!

PS: I just got back from the vet. He is a she, and is apparently perfectly healthy. No fleas, no worms, no crustys or other shit in her ears, got the first dystemper shot. The doc thinks she's about 5 weeks old, and seems to be fairly well fed, just slightly undernourished maybe.

Good news about kitty cat....but "Neckbone" is not going to work for a female cat though... suggest that you start a new "name my pussy" thread and draw upon the vast talent pool of rf.netters to come up with the purrrfect name.

[sorry for the hacky bit on "purrrfect", I couldn't help it]

Congratulations she is adorable. You can probably stick with Neckbone for the name. Original pet names always evolve/devolve into nicknames anyway.

I think neckbone works....even though she's female. We pulled two kittens out of a dumpster at Dunkin donuts, and that was 2 years ago and they are my babies.....but we named one Dunkin because of where we found them. the other one is a cute name but not related, (I didnt name him) Sammy......they are my little punkins from dunkin.

By the way; I am so happy she's ok and healthy. I think its almost unheard of that a stray doesn't have worms, so watch her, make sure there are no wormies in her poop...sometimes they are missed.

My sammy got dewormed when we first got him, and then the vet said he had a clean bill of health, and then about a week later he threw up....what did he throw up? Worms.

So we took him back to another vet and he was officially de-wormed. He also had some issues with his left eye....and will forever have a little spot on it (I think it was something like feline herpes) but he can see and he's fine. My cats hit the Kitty cat jackpot baby!!!!!
