Just finished watching the premiere, and I dug it. I'm not sure how long they can drag out the "what happened" angle, but for the time being I'll keep on watching. Couple of interesting twists at the end: showing the empty chair then cutting to the apparently "good" robber, they certainly lead you to believe that he was more on their side than his brother. And then the little chick (Felicia?) going to see him. I think he's probably the breakout, compelling character, and Egan. So far so good, I say. A worthy follow-up to Lost. It should do well.

www.onlytheyknow.com

Just has some short character bios at the moment.

I thought it was just dreadfully bad. I'm amazed that it's on TV. It's a shame, the guy from Wings had a pretty cool show called Eyes that got cancelled quick last year.

The empty chair was presumably (buying into the tedious nature of the show) for the woman who died...

Ack. Can't say enough bad things about this one. If there is something more interesting behind what we saw tonight (I'm just barely on the fence about the dim prospects of that potential), then the writers did an awful job of selling it. Just bad.

Okay here's my dilemma...I saw everything but the actual incident at the bank that ties them all together, I know it was a robbery...but what happened?

umm.... the empty chair was shown while they talked about why Felicia couldnt be there...then, they showed where she was (visiting in jail). Hello? Lost has us overthinking tv.

I think because of it's following Lost, it actually will do well. Its not great, but good enough for tv. And for me, Egan is the most interesting character so far. I also cant wait to see what the doctor did in there. We know he fucked up, but how? Offered to trade his life for his fiance? We shall see.

the empty chair was shown while they talked

(visiting in jail). Hello? Lost has us overthinking tv.

This is why there's like 3 good shows on TV. Am I am overthinking or just thinking? Understanding, looking for and reading subtext and metaphor in TV shows doesn't and shouldn't have to end with one single show. You say it like it's a bad thing. Perhaps if we continue to do it and demand a little more depth of all the shows we watch they'll actually start producing shit that's worth watching.

Of course the chair was Felicia's. And now that the obvious is out of the way, let's dig a bit. There were a hundred different ways they could've shot that final prison scene without showing Felicia, but they didn't. The first person you see after the empty chair is Lucas Dalton. All throughout the episode there were signs and hints that something happened on the inside that placed him on the side of the hostages and not his brother, even to the point of the captives defending him against the SWAT team. Cutting from the empty chair to him was a nice way of showing that. I'm not saying it's the only way to look at it. There is the aforementioned idea that it's simply Felicia's chair, or it could be viewed as being an empty chair, left that way for Eva, their dead homey. Maybe they'll always leave a chair empty in remembrance. All three are valid, but my preferred take is that there is a place at the table for another, someone who deserves to be sitting there, with them, as one of them, a fellow survivor of this terrible ordeal.

I didnt say ANYTHING that follows Lost will do well, I said that THIS show is good AND because it follows Lost will do well.

And to paraphrase Freud, sometimes, a chair's just a chair.

I really liked Invasion.I had to watch The Nine because of the reviews.I liked it.It did get a bit far fetched with the Dr. and the sister.I thought it was kind of weird when they all got together at the end at the diner. But blew my mind when the managers daughter shows up at the prison. Is she involved or does she really going to question him about what happened?

I sat there just waiting for this show to end. I don't get it. Why is it such a matter of national security because of a simple bank robbery gone bad? Why the hell did the FBI have to conduct interviews in a goddamn tunnel? Why the hell couldn't Jack Bauer just show up and end this within minutes?

The doctor's wife or girlfriend (whatever the hell she is) looks like she's gonna be really annoying with this whole "we have to keep in touch and never forget" bullshit. Fucking hippy!

I've been watching this show each week, but last nights bored me, so I will be dropping it from my DVR.
It's an odd show. I can't tell if I like it yet. Plus i'm not a huge fan of shows that drag things out like this one. I get the premise, but I do feel like it's starting to wear a little thin.

I really like this show, they give you a little everyweek about what happened in the bank and still the new story line gets better and more involved. Good show and I love the cast, put together very nicely

week 1, i dug the premise. week 2 lost me a little. but i thought week 3 was strong again, so i'm gonna stick with it for a while. i think it's an interesting premise and, although it can be a little frustrating at times, i kind of like the way you only find out parts of the story at a time. the show has a lot of potential if they do it well...

If they pulled it I wouldnt care but for now I will watch. Parts have been interesting - parts have been slow. I want to see where its going.

The Nine is the Anti-Lost for me: Lost had me from the very first episode I watched, The Nine I keep trying to get into. Lost has the mystery on the island and show the characters lives before the big event of the show via flashbacks. The Nine's mystery is in the flashbacks.

So do "The Nine" include the woman who died?

I really want to watch Heroes, in fact I've been dl-ing each episode every week and not watching it because my TV plate is full with Lost, Dexter (which is by far winning the Best New Show), The Office, and The Nine. The Nine isn't good enough really to hold onto, so I could drop that and slide Heroes in, but I'm sort of invested in it now. It's really not that good of a show; terribly, terribly overacted. I'm not sure if the writing is bad as well or if it's just that the lines are delivered in such an over the top fashion that it makes the writing seem worse than it is. And, I agree. It is sort of the anti Lost. Lost took a very strange, unnatural, weird and fantastic situation and made me believe it. The Nine takes a real world situation, something that could happen in real life, and has made it sort of cartoony. I can't buy into it. I have to keep watching though, even if it's just to find out what happened inside. My guess is Randall went crazy and killed and raped and What's-his-nuts, his brother, tried to stop him. Big whoop.

Ok I'm comitted to this show, I really do find the story to be getting more and more better with each episode, I like the story that is unraveling, and how the blanks are getting filled in. I would like for them to move beyond the first hour of the hold up at some point, but no big deal.

The show is on hiatus right now. ABC doesn't know when it will be back on but it's suppose to return later on in the season.
