Watching this gamehas made me really think about Brett Favre. Should he end his career after this year? My vote is yes.

http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m205/Minutebloe/esd4sigbz9.jpg

nice guy, little bit of an egomaniac

I saw his interview after the first game where he played like shit and he didn't take any fault or blame. He worded it " i thought we were ready but obviously we weren't ready " The manner in which he said it you can tell he was indicating the rest of the team and not himself

Did we really lose Madden?

Kornheiser: "It's doubtful Favre will bring the Packers back, but Favre in Katrina, his wife's breast cancer, his addiction to pain killers really makes him feel like one of us."

This should be in Games and Sports.

I used to like Brett Favre and thought he was a classy guy. Now I see him for what he is - a spoiled brat egomaniac who couldn't care less about what's best for the Green Bay Packers, only about what's best for Brett Favre.

I know he's been great for the organization, but all good things must come to an end. It's time for management to grow a pair and bench this has been.

The best thing for the Packers would be to let the kid get some starts under his belt this season so they can begin building a team around him. Favre hogging the QB spot is doing nobody any good, except Favre.
Amen, brother.
Farve was a hell of a quarterback in the days when he had a head full of painkillers to keep his primate brain from forming a thought. The guy's answer to every fuck-up is to throw a long bomb into triple coverage. Now back in the days when he had a fully-functiontial thumb and a stellar recieving corps, that shit worked and won several pretty big games. Ten years later, we've got a banged-up old man with a supporting cast that consists of a half-a-decade's worth of wasted draft picks, unproven rookies and practice squad signees. And yet, despite being told not to by his coaches FOR FUCKING YEARS, he still feels the way to win the game is to throw the ball as hard as he can and hope one of our guys comes down with it.
If Brett Farve really wanted what was best for the team, he'd fuck off and die. The cap room he eats could afford us a starting halfback that actually makes it past week three without gettting injured and maybe some recievers & corners that can both run and catch. But as long as that fat-tongued monkey thinks he's the only guy on the team needed to win games, our quarterback-of-the-future becomes a millionare for rotting away on the bench.

How many games out of sixteen does he play in a season, honestly? I think his glory days were short-lived, and he's going to be hurting enough in twenty years without all the additional hits he'll take in Baltimore. If you think he's still got more productive years in him, more power to you, but as far as I'm concerned, he's been held together with string for years.

See, I don't count you as a fan unless you actually watch the fucking games, not just put them on in the background. But those mindless twats are the ones that hit the Packer Pro Shop ever week, so I guess in the eyes of the rest of the country, they are "the fans". I can honestly say that the fucking twits that clamor for Farve to play year after year couldn't name anyone on the roster besides Farve, Green and Driver. Come to Wisconsin, find the first person wearing a "4" jersey and ask them if Farve played his entire career in Green Bay and you'll be fucking shocked with the responses you get. There has not been a vet players that has taken his team back more Since Patrick Ewing. Demanding that trade or re sign really set the whole Knicks mess in motion. Favre is doing the same thing. Rogers should be in at least his 1.5th year as the starting QB.

Ted Thompson has been open in the past about not feeling that linemen our worth spending a lot of money on (or so I hear). If they really wanted Farve to retire, I believe less snaps would have done it. I honestly think that if Mr. One-Man-Army got benched everytime he threw a third interception (which is sometimes before halftime, and anyone who watches Packer games has seen him finish a full four quarters after 4-5 INTs before) I really do think he'd have a bitch fit, run his mouth to the press, and retire after the season.

Mike Sherman took Holgrem's Superbowl-calibur team and drove it into the ground one season at a time. When he got canned, all the yokels were up in arms. But when Defensive Coodinator Jim Bates, who took us from one of the worst defenses in the NFL to one of the top ten in one season, was let go for "not being nice enough to the players in his first year at the job", the bulk of Wisconsin didn't even notice.
