Karen Carpenter

Jokes aside, she did have a great voice and a history of hit singles in the 1970's. You may not like their music but a lot of people did back then.

Josh Dion of the Josh Dion band. Not only does he have an amazing set of pipes, he is probably the best drummer of our generation, and that's no bullshit. If you don't believe me, come see for yourself, October 7th at the Bitter End on Bleecker.

Who are the most notable drummers that also sing/sang?

=

I'll put Keith Moon in the 'notable' category. The guy couldnt sing a note to save his life or anyone else's but that didnt stop him from trying; I think it's 'The Kids are Alright' that shows The Who in rehearsal w/ Keith attempting 'Barbara Ann' [sp?] and it's just the biggest trainwreck ever.

Having said that, his contribution to the song 'Bell Boy' from Quadrophenia just fucking rocks.

Sub-Thread? Great songs from bands not sung by the usual 'lead' singer, like the occasional tune sung by the Keith Richards, Paul Entwhistle's, and Ringo's of rock.

Don't get me started on Beth by Kiss, speaking of drummers who should shut up...
