Awfully graphic for a 9PM show. But enough about Christine Elise's face.  Heroes is a show with a lot of "that guy/girl" actors.  Stacy Haiduk (Superboy/Seaquest), Pasdar (Profit), Grunberg (Alias, Lost), etc.etc. I know that Claire is supposed to be indestructible, but are we supposed to believe that a blindside hit from a Quarterback is supposed to break a girl's neck so badly that it's turned 180 degrees?  If they are destroying Hayden this much 2 episodes in, I think she's gonna be drawn and quartered by May. Good second episode.

I don't know how old the kid is supposed to be, but I just don't know any third graders that fix the logic boards in their computers... seriously... that's a power. Not only that, this is an evolution thing, according to the Sureshes... that said, it's almost guaranteed that, since both his parents have powers, he has them. Or, scientifically, he has a fifty percent chance, as opposed to a one in a million chance for most people.

I found the show enjoyable.  Hopefully it'll tighten up when the super powered people come together.I think this'll start next week after the "portable harddrive" was found last last night, and they said it was a way to find them.

Tonights episode kicked ass! (spoilers below if you TIVOED)Proving why its destined to be the next "LOST" (i mean that ina good way).Great scene when Hiro saved that little girl in frozen time, and that scene when the mystery kidnapper ( does he have the cheerleaders ability to be indestructable?) and then fly off...What about that coming attraction with cheerleader on that table..great stuff.oh and Ali Larter is among the top 3 hotties on TV.

My guess is the black guy will turn out to be Ali Larter's husband and will be working with Claire's dad. That final scene with the autopsy was pretty messed up. Good thing Claire can heal herself. I really would not want her ability now though since it is shown that she can be killed. Regeneration is one thing, but I would prefer being invincible which she obviously is not.

I actually wish I had the whole thing on DVD, so I could watch it straight through.*I just looked at the preview again, at it looks like the black guy actually IS the cheerleader's father (shapeshifter).*

Some questions after last night's awesome episode:Was the guy that Ali Larter dug up her husband?  She seems to think it was someone in his crew, but it seems just as likely that her other personality killed her husband and buried him in the desert.Does the cheerleader's father know about her power?  It can't be a coincidence that he's fighting mutants and also has one of his own.  The politicians brother is the only character I can't stand.  He's annoying and brings the show to a grinding halt.  Just fly already you weak little limp-dick mental case!

Ok the Stripper girl's husband is alive and the two will be reunited shortly..(Bald Black Guy)...The brothers both can fly...although one will take a dark turn I want to say that the girl across the hall from the Indian Guy  has powers as well (super reflexive speed and super stregnth)...I saw two discs in dad's case in the pilot with color coding that I think corresponding to the Map. She's his protector..The Japs are going to meet up with the Vegas Stripper..and continue with her to nyc...where her alter ego might have something to do with the Nukeall Theories though

I missed almost the entire last 15 minutes of Monday's episode (damn you Ravens), but did see the last 30 seconds. I just have a question: did they take out cheerleader girl's (Claire I guess, Im so horrible with character names) organ's out? I mean its not like i don't think she can grow them back, but its just bugged me this past week as to whether or not i saw her organs on the table next to her. and possible Spolier AlerteI don't think anyone has mentioned this but I think I read in TV Guide that the Congressman's brother has the power of mimicry, not necessarilly flight. He just copies other people's powers. And therefore I think he might end up being like the most important one of em. But yeah he is really whiny.

I initially dismissed this show as a 4400 rip-off...but I have to admit I think its just as good...where the 4400 is more science fiction, Heroes is more pulp fuction....I have to admit I'm getting a little tired of the indian doctor's son and his incessant whining and skepticism. Jesus I thought Scully was bad. How much more convincing do you need? They kill your dad, weird government shadow types pursuing you, breaking into your apt, bugging you....it's getting a little ridiculous.I also would like to commend his judgement of moving directly back into the apartment where his father lived. Why don't you run around with a "kill me" t-shirt on?Other than that, it's awesome. I like the "Rogue" angle with the brother. Future Hiro is awesome. I thought he was going to be Syler for a second. One gripe, why when one freezes time does everything turn blue?

It could have been Hiro from years from now.  And to me the change in voice was more of a less happy-go-lucky, hyper current version of Hiro, and more of a war torn, weary, more mature version.And again, I love the little pop culture references, like the Rain Man bit on the escalator.

ikiN has showed to have fighting skills and possibly above-average strength and confidence, something that Niki does not.  So I'm guessing that ikiN is basically a powered-down version of the Hulk, with Niki being Banner.  (More like a smart grey hulk deal)FutureHiro is probably from 5-10 years in the future.  He told Peter that he didn't recognize him "without his scar", so obviously, they are going to be fighting on the same team. I've noticed that none of the heroes show superstrength or even above-average strength, which is kind of a copout for me, except for the possibility of ikiN. I've noticed that the "blue effect" when FutureHiro froze everything was present in the lab where Matt Parkman was being kept. Also, I think Horned-Rim Man... Mr. Bennett - has some sort of teleporting deal.  Parkman was in LA, his "home" is in Odessa, TX.  Bennett was up in his house in Odessa the next morning.

The blue lighting could be the spectrum of light be affected by the freezing of time. This is a simple explanation: Einstein effect blueshifts are associated with light entering a strong gravitational field while Einstein effect redshifts imply light is leaving the field.In some other explanations of this effect, clocks will run faster the further they are from a large gravitational body and slower the closer they are to it. It would also mean he could essentialy contain an explosion by not allowing it to expand.I have to think this out for more than 5 minutes. I think this is my new favorite show. I'm excited it got picked up and that we'll be in for a full season at least.The autopsy scene was a bit too graphic for my taste but I still love it. So far my favorite characters are the cheerleader and the junkie artist. only problem i have is with them showing hiro at the end of the last episode looking different and speaking good english and saying that he was from the futureit kinda implies that they save NY from destruction,which they seem to be building up as the ending of this season or possible cliffhanger, unless they plan to tell us that he froze time for awhile to learn english and perfect fighting and sword skills

It seems that Hiro is already starting to pick up English.  He spoke quite well to Nathan Petrelli.  So we have good "heroes":  Claire, Peter, Hiro, Isaac.And bad "heroes":  Sylar, the black, mind-eraser guy.Any speculation of where some of the other characters may go?  I think Niki's alter ego draws her to the "dark side."  And just because he's a politician, and hates his "powers", Nathan is going to be a problem.  Plus it would pit brother against brother.

I really hope Nathan winds up accepting his power. He definitely has a hero look to him. Am I the only one who is not completely turned on by Nikki? Granted, when she was in her panties and bent over while with Nathan, she definitely has a killer ass, but overall the rest of her isn't that great. She's flat as a board and her mouth and jaw look weird. I would take Claire anyday over Nikki.

Here's the thing... Glassesman said to wipe the cop only because it's obvious that they are studying the heroes.  They want to know what they can do.  He called Matt "special", so you wouldn't damage something you find special. Basically, he wanted Matt to forget about waking up in the lab and also - more importantly - to forget about Clare. The QB is a different situation.  THAT was more of the father pissed that someone tried to hurt his daughter, and had the power to do something about it. And I'm sure Glassesman' sidekick is skilled enough to take specific memories out, but leave skills (talking, etc) still intact.

Ando & Hiro balance each other pretty well.  Hiro is the dreamer-idealist while Ando is the practical-realist.  They really do make a good team.SPOILER:Was Niki/ikiN killed at the end of the episode?  I couldn't tell if she dropped over dead or was just knocked out.  Did DL stop her heart or just "shock" her system by phasing through her?  That would be one hell of a plot point if they killed off one of the "main" characters already.The show is really starting to hit it's stride.  I just hope they have the opportunity to follow the story through (meaning more than one season).

I don't think Niki/IkiN is dead.  I think that DL gave her a heart attack, but not enough to kill her. She'll be back in a few weeks with a stent and depressed, and all the other heroes will make jokes at her expense and say how they miss Pre-Heart Attack Niki.  Then they'll play Three's Company Trivia and she'll kill them all.

i dont know about that, because we havent really seen sylars powers besides flying and able to not be killed by bullets.  white text:i mean yes peter can mimicry but it doesnt look like those powers stay with him at all times only when by that person, so then sylar would only have powers of telepathy when he was in matts presence not flight.  Also i think Sylars power is able to gain peoples power by killing them, and thats why he is committing all those murders cause they have super powers that they dont know about yet, just a theory on that part.

Thanks for the spoiler stuff, very interesting.Did we see who was at Isaac's door? I forget (was it the girl that turned heel) and then his apartment was completely empty. I was catching up on a bunch of shows last night and they're all mixed together.Claire's dad must have taken all the paintings. I wonder what that symbol meant that he discovered in his painting before he opened the door.I'm getting more hooked every week. I thought when Niki's husband put his hand through her that he was killing Jessica and that Niki would be OK but obviously that wasn't the case.

White text:The technology that Parkman has been using doesn't match tech 10 years ago.  Also, Clare has NO recollection of her childhood as she was given up at birth, (as the story goes) - so perhaps she was taken at 7, given a mind-wipe by Scary Haitian Guy, and always remembered being with the Bennetts, but that would mean that either Mrs. Bennett and the brother was mind-wiped as well, and no one remembers clare when she was younger.

the other 2 marks were the beginning of that half helix logo that niki has (technically I think its only visible when she is "jessica"). Parkman and nuclear guy have the 2 horizontal lines only, it looks like 2 scratches

Also I hope these "heros" aren't all aliens. I don't like the fact that everyone seems to be discovering all their powers at the same time. It would be nice if there were a couple of people that were like "Hey yeah I have powers Ive always had them , no biggie".

I read some article saying that the networks are trying to foil Tivo by letting the shows run past the hour/half hour, to try and get people to watch live.  My old DVR box used to have an option to record 5 minutes before, 5 minutes after but my new one doesn't.

Same thing happened with BSG's finale last year - it ran late and we lost the last minute of it. I don't see why the Networks are doing this - if you're saavy enough to use TIVO, you're saavy enough to download an episode through torrents.  At least we're ATTEMPTING to watch the commercials on TIVO.

Department of homeland security, he was definitely using a Razr. Mr. Bennett/HRG said Claire was saved from Silar 14 years ago, Parkman's storyline could not possibly be 14 years ago.

I think the next episode is the last one for a month. I can't wait, should answer a few questions and open a few more.

Why I said above, "Damn, I hate Time Paradoxes". If Hiro changed the future, the environment around Ando (since the camera remained on him) would have changed immediately.  But it didn't, which means one of two things - either Hiro's not saving GoogleGal/WikiWoman, or Heroes is playing fast and loose with the laws of temporal paradoxes, which they probably will have to because of it being a major network show and the average IQ of the audience. They are going with the Back to the Future angle, (which also shook up temporal paradoxes in major entertainment), so who knows what happens.BTW - Midland TX (where Hiro and Ando are) is basically the next town over from Odessa, TX, so I'm guessing Hiro in the past has something to do with Saving the Cheerleader. I'm hoping as Heroes' audience grows, the Special FX budget goes up... already the show has to be terribly expensive because of the size of the cast and locations... I'm guessing that by season 2, we'll see some people with some really kick-ass powers, like a true Hulk deal, or a shapeshifter.

Hiro in the past and not changing the future is really bugging me too, and I am trying my damndest to figure out what is going on.  He would have caused changes to happen (more than just a picture) - no matter what.  If he is back at the birthday party, Hiro should be able to warn the Waitress in PLENTY of time, thus changing the future.My "saving grace" thought is this:  Maybe the creators are treating Hiro's time travel like an old movie serial.  Y'know, the kind where you see the stagecoach that the hero is in plummet off of the cliff , you think he is dead, then you get "join us next week" on the screen.  The next week you find out that the hero actually jumped out of the stagecoach at the last minute, but they didn't show you that scene last week.  Maybe that is what they are doing with Hiro - the "revisions" will kick in next week.

By the way, Sci Fi Channel runs "Heroes" Friday night at 7:00pm.  If you can delay gratification, you can watch Friday then Monday, skip a week, then Friday and Monday.  For those of us without Tivo, it is rather convenient.  I watch Monday then the repeat Friday, but I am a freak.I believe USA is also running a repeat, but I am not sure what night - maybe Tuesday.  Since they are all owned by the same company, the crossovers are pretty convenient.EDIT:  OK, "Heroes" isn't on the USA schedule this week, so it may have been a one-time thing.  However, I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually run it regularly or run a marathon.

Did he just mean he wouldn't be late returing from his time travel? Either way like Tenbats said, those cities are very close. Since I've lived in Texas people always say Midland-Odessa together, it's almost never separate so they placed them there so they can get to the homecoming but didn't make it obvious to people who aren't familiar with Texas.

This reminds me too much of bill and ted's bogus journey when they go "damn, no key.  Remind me after we're done saving everyone to get the key from my dad and put it up here on the window" and then it's there.If Hiro went back who's to say that a screaming lunatic japanese guy would have the same appeal to the google girl?  She only got her powers "in the past couple months" so maybe he went back TOO far and is waiting for her to get her powers.Also, it shoudlnt' matter how far he goes back because he's planning on returning to the same second he left anyways.  That means he could be in the stone ages and still get back in 5 seconds even if it takes him 10 years to figure out how.  Could this be when Hiro learns English?  Maybe he teaches her japanese and she learns english?  Who knows?  This fucking show is driving me nuts.  Week after week we get a handful of plot points and nothing else.I wish they'd set this show up like a mini series (aka band of brothers) where every show had significant action, significant developments, significant start, and significant end.  This is the first TV show I've been into since the Shield's second season and I just can't take the way it's paced.  I can't stop watching because I want to know what happens, but the way nothing happens is bothering me.  Did we even figure out what the hell is in the desk drawer?  I feel like this season's going to end and nothing will have happened.  It's like watching a fucking japanese cartoon.  (try sitting through an episode of a show like Naruto or Dragonball Z... 30 minutes of two guys staring at each other getting ready to fight... just like the past 10 episodes)

Alright, so check this out. I was just re-watching the first episode, and I noticed something that I haven't seen anyone say yet I don't think. Micah is reading an isse of "9th Wonders" while Nikki is talking to his principal. That's the comic that Isaac writes. The one that Hiro found and used. But this was a different issue. And, naturally, it figures largely into all the local legends and mythology, but from what I've found none of them make a whole lot of sense in conjunction with the show. If you apply them like Horoscopes, with very broad terms that can be almost universally applicable to the readers' lives, you can twist all the myths to apply. I dunno, could very well be nothing also. It's fun to play with though. I think it is.

I've been trying to figure out what the hell that "bad guy" sirus's power is.  The two scenes I've personally seen him in were when the cop pulls a gun on him and he makes her point it at herself and when he kills the google girl "with" the can opener.  Could his power be that he controlls metals like a magneto (sp?) or that he has some kind of wierd control over machinery where he can transfer the damage or something?Of course we also saw him run through a wall?  I was just getting into heroes on the marathon they ran a few weeks ago, so I'm still a little shakey on it.

I'm excited about the show tonight but I think we won't know at the end if the cheerleader is safe or not. One thing that I think is interesting is the way they are trying to swerve us into thinking the cheerleader's father is good. If he was then why allow his daughter to be where she could possibly die. I think he wants to draw Sylar out and is using her as bait.

DID THEY SAVE THE RIGHT CHEERLEADER?Having Hiro in the show makes everything impossible to guess.  The key character COULD die and Hiro could go back to save him/her.  Are we reading cheerleader wrong?  Could it be the guy who's pumping Claire up?  Could it be the waitress (was she a cheerleader?) Do any of Isaac's paintings actually show Claire dieing?  When you see her reaching out screaming, could that be because "the cheerleader" is being killed?I was talking to my chick and she goes "are you sure Claire is 'the cheerleader'?"The only possible "world destroying" power we know is the human torch guy.  Isaac painted him again but with no indication of what he's doing other than what looks like flying and being on fire.  Could he be somehow related to the now dead chick and flip his lid and blow up the world?I don't think the phase shifting guy is dead because that would 90% end Nikki/jessica's involvement in the show.  She'd have her son back and her husband dead.  Her only connection would be to Peter's brother and that's really not much of an angle unless she wants his money or some jive.Did anyone else notice that in the closing voice over they used the same moniker "The Face of Evil" but instead of showing Claire's dad they showed Sylar?  They've been saying "The Cheerleader" and showing Claire every single week but this one.  I'm really starting to feel like the cheerleader was not saved.It feels like they are setting up the heel (the dad) to be a face (concerned father) but who knows if this murder will make him go off and change the direction of his agency from keeping tabs on "mutants" to killing mutants... thus bringing out the end of the world?What about the short haired hypnotist chick?  How did she know who Sylar was, what he looked like, where to find him, or that he was trying to hurt her when he put his hand up?  If all she had to do was confront him and put him to sleep so the dominican dude could wipe his brain and basically neuter him, why not shadow Claire and do it when he shows his face?  Is she working against Claire's dad?  Could she and the other mind control guy be setting up a mutant army a la xmen?I have about 10,000 more words to type about this stupid show, but I know that I've allready wrote too much.

I may have something that deals with Peter and him getitng arrested... possible spoiler.. in whiteI work for TV Guide... greg Grunberg (Coppy McMind reader) was in our office for an interview, and he said that he recently filmed a scene with Milo (peter petrelli) and the scene is basically them reading each other's minds.. so, possibly he is brought in to interrogate him, and they work together, and he gets him out of it.

If you look at the shadowy face in a couple of shots it really does look like him, plus with the whole beginning bit with him destroying the painting sets him up for the heel turn. It also makes a lot of sense. He and Peter are brothers, perhaps they actually share the same ability. We know Peter absorbs others' powers by being near them. Perhaps Nathan does the same, but by either killing and ingesting their brains or keeping bits of them close by, like in a baggie in his pocket or something, he is able to permanently absorb their powers. Makes sense, no?

Perhaps Nathan does the same, but by either killing and ingesting their brains or keeping bits of them close by, like in a baggie in his pocket or something, he is able to permanently absorb their powers. Makes sense, no? My response, and truthfully, I'm not going to Spoiler Text this, because its my speculation, not guaranteed information on an actual storyline:Out of either Nathan or Peter being Sylar, I'd go with an older Peter who has traveled from the future back to the past to gain powers.   Think about it.  Peter's power is to absorb powers temporarily from people in his proximity.  However, what if an aspect power of that power was to absorb powers permanently if the other person dies in his presence?   Now, let's say that one of the first people he killed is Hiro, and thus, Peter can travel back in time to kill more "powers."  The why could be because he was unable to stop some tragic event, he snapped, and decided that he could stop the event, if only he had enough powers himself to do so.  BTW, this storyline is a little similar to a storyline in the comic book "Rising Stars' where 99 super-powered humans each had a special power.  One of the powers was killing other powers to get more power for himself.  The only difference was that with each death of a power, the abilities/power of the deceased was split amongst the remaining powers.The only problem with this theory is that in one of the first episodes, the Indian genetic scientist (name I can't remember right now) heard a message from Sylar to the scientist father which made it seem like the only reason Sylar had powers was due to the father telling him about powers.

Didn't Sylar say his first name in the coming attractions?  Why do I get the feeling he said "Hi, I'm Peter Sylar" or something?Seeing as homecoming was such a let down, I am SURE that the season finale will be homecomming and that they saved the wrong cheerleader.  We don't know anything about the chick who died other than her personality.  I still think that she will be the one that they have to save.WHITE TEXT:Next weeks's show is 6 months in the past and they will give more background information on pretty much everyone from mohinder's father, claire, Nathan, etc.  This adds to my idea that they are going to end the season at homecomming again.

If Peter was Sylar, why would Future Hiro come back to Peter and have him give past Hiro a message?  Do you think he would think he could trust him?  And he obviously knows him in the future because he mentions the scar.

I think everyone is focusing on "the cheerleader" in the wrong way. I think "save the cheerleader save the world"is not as simple as the written word. By Peter saving Claire he has set events in motion that might not have occured and that in turn will save the world. I think Peter will now through the arrest link up with Parkman during questioning. Which will cost his brother the election. Which will make that mob guy he borrowed money from pissed. Which will bring Nikki, her son and husband into the mix. There are alot of dominos to fall that this one event has set into motion.

I have also thought that power absorption is a possibility, so I was trying to figure out the powers he currently has.  However, last night's episode may have shown another possibility.Possible Spoilers -  Not White TextedFrom last night's episode, Telekinesis is apparently his "go to" power.  They showed that he uses it to pop the top off of people's heads (that answers that question), but it can be used to explain his other powers too.It looks like he cannot Fly outright, or else he would have done so in his fight with Peter.  But he is somehow able to "blink" from place to place.  Is could be Teleportation, a Hiro-like ability to "Time Freeze," or just a short TK burst sending him forward rapidly.I also don't think he has mind control - it is more likely that he contols people's bodies with his TK.I am not sure about Healing anymore either.  There wasn't any blood after Sylar took the plunge off of the building.  Peter bled like a mo-fo, as did Claire - so I think healing, per se, is out of the picture.  He may have some sort of invulnerability or is impervious to physical injury (to some degree anyway) - a strong possibility is that he has developed a TK Shield that keeps him from being injured.OK, that is what I was thinking.  What about you guys?

So far Ted's been showing up in paintings and is the only one with a wide reaching devastating power (he is nuclear).  I am not going to be supprised if the dead cheerleader is his sister or his daughter or something.  The other possibility for Sylar is Claire's "gay friend."  When he knocks Claire off his back and looks at her there is a split second he seems shocked.  Part of that should be that he just slammed her into a brick wall and she's getting up and healing, but when they showed his face it looked like the friend a little to me.The friend was getting a lot of air time this week too.  I don't think he's gay just because it seems too much like he's got a crush on claire and that he's just confident in who he is regardless of what people think.  There is just as much chance of him being gay as not gay, but I really think that if Claire IS the cheerleader, than Sylar could be her friend... from the FUTURE!   what the fuck with this time travel shit?  It makes everything so hard to deal with.

CTed's powers get so out of control is that Clare is the only one who can get close to him. Back to regular:BTW, didn't they give a date for homecoming?  I remember them saying it's now October 12th?  That's a thursday. What date did Hiro jump to in the future?  November 8th?"Sunday Brunch" with the Petrellis was a few episodes ago. My head hurts.
