Why the hell are people still crowd "surfing"?! I thought this stupid shit went out with Woodstock '94?

What a bunch of inconsiderate asses these people are. I was at the Virgin Festival on Saturday, and I was totally looking forward to seeing The Who for the first time. It was like a danger zone! You wind up distracted from the show b/c you have to look out for falling idiots on all sides or getting pushed and shoved along in their wake. All I'm waiting for is to here "Won't Get Fooled Again" live by The Who for the first time in my life (heard Van Halen do a great cover once) when just as the song hits I'm hit in the back of the head by a Nike! The guy next to me lost his glasses, my girlfriend had some idiot land on her head... why does anyone help these people along?! I refused to help these guys at all and finally got some of the people around me who were equally fed up to do the same.

Just stop lifting these jerks or start letting them fall to the ground on their idiot heads, and this shit will quickly go away. Or even better yet, just pull them down to the ground as they go over head.

end rant.

You shoulda crowd surfed yourself and kicked him in the back of the head with a pair of doc martens. If you can't stop it, might as well join it.

i know what you mean , but i dont mind crowd surfers as much as moshing(i dont know how to spell it). I cant understand why anyone would want to go to a gig and have their ass kicked. and its soooo gay.

But I don't remember seeing it done in years, and I go to a decent number of concerts.

On a different message board someone could be posting:

WHY DO PEOPLE PAY MONEY TO JUST STAND ARPUND AND WATCH A CONCERT?

Nothing sounds worse than some old guy bitching about a concert/moshin/crowd surfing.............
The difference is, my kvetching doesn't have the potential to injure anyone, nor do I distract from anyone else's enjoyment of the show. When your activities affect others, that's when they're problematic.

I dont dig the surfing at all. So now, I get away from the action and enjoy the show from a distance. But I should be able to watch a show from 40-50 yards away from the stage and not worry about flying bodies.
theWho rocks but if I went to the show I would not have expected to see lots of crowd surfing or heavy moshing for that matter. WTF, its not Black Flag or some shit like that. I would expect theWho crowd to have mellowed. But its not like you cant get away from moshing whenever you want.

Like the poster above me you wouldn't expect too rough of a crowd at who show but what do I know. The craziest shit I ever saw is my friend got hit in the head with a brick at Wu Tang/ RATM show...kinda ruined the show.

I don't know about guys, but most girls stop doing it after they are digitally raped by hundreds of guys.
I chipped a tiny bit of a tooth at a show one time when a crowd surfer landed on my head. I was never much of a crowd surfer myself other than once being forcibly thrown up top by roommates in my younger days. I nearly cracked my skull. Not sure where I come down on the surfers. I just thought it was anecdote time.

Yeah, well, I've known that since 1989. I'm not against the crowdsurfing. Just don't come near ME.
