Tonights season premier of the US version of The Office was very very funny. This show just gets better and better...did anyone else catch it or watch this show?

This and LOST are my 2 favorite shows on TV. Every
episode is funny and it's pretty certain to give at least 2 laugh out
loud moments every episode. It is also a show that rewards people
for watching an entire season. Lot's of in jokes and call
backs.
I don't know if this one has aired yet (i don't remember it) and I thought it was going to be this week's, but i guess that next week's episode will be one where Dwight is training Ryan the temp to be a full time salesman. BJ Novak was on Leno like two Tuesdays ago and he said that it would be airing in two Thursdays (i know, im writing like a jerkoff), so it should've aired this week. It sounded funny.

That whole episode is easily, in my opinion, one of the best they've ever done. But even though they finally went to the farm, they still held back on what we know about Dwight. Compared to the stuff they've mentioned or hinted to us, what we saw was barely a drop in the bucket. Hell, we didn't even see the whole farm...just a barn, a field and a, uh, coffin. And I loved the line, "where the hell are all the animals?"

And that Jim/Pam phone call was so awesomely painful. I think I've had that kind of conversation a thousand times at this point.

Anyone still on this show's bandwagon?

I thought last week was maybe the best episode of the series. The new Dwight/Andy dynamic is awesome.

And they just took the uncomfortability factor with Pam to a new level with the parking lot scene at the end of the episode.

Still waiting for them to top the Drug Testing episode...
However, Creed's line in the season opener about the "a man could have
slilpped in there. There'd be no way of knowing," was awesome.
The past couple of episodes have been really blah, but the last one got a few
laughs out of me. I was perplexed by Jim and Karen though - at the end of
the last episode, wasn't she saying how she didn't think he was that into
her? And now all of the sudden they're dating?

I think Jim ultimately is seeing her to make Pam feel jealous. Granted it does seem she has a good sense of humor and she expresses to him that she's interested in him. Though I think Pam is going to have to make the move on Jim.

It's also possible that Jim made it up and he was just floating the idea to see how Pam reacted.

Because the very last shot of the episode showed him with a look like he was crushed that she so matter-of-factly brushed it off.

Either way, though, whether the end result will be the same, because if he did make it up initially, he'll almost certainly go to Karen now that Pam appeared to him to be completely disinterested at the end.

To me, besides the pilot, the show is completely original compared to the British version, but this is one 'story line' that I'm thinking they are borrowing.

Remember when the merged the new offices (British version) and Tim ended up dating the blonde? He had gotten a promotion and was acting more cold towards Dawn because she turned him down once. Tim actually liked the girl but when she wanted him to vacation with the parents he broke it off.

I think Jim is/will date Karen but she'll want to get serious and he'll realize he wasn't ready for that at all and is still totally into Pam. Now, how they will work that out, I don't know. The British one ended with Dawn moving to Florida. They didn't hook up until the reunion special.

I thought last night's episode was a little weak overall. I mean, don't get me wrong it was funny, and really had soem good scenes, but in comparison to the other eps I found it lacking something. I'm not sure what, but I just wasn't quite as satisfied with it. Maybe it's just tough to follow up the scene between Pam and Dwight from last episode, when she was crying. That was absolute comedic perfection and doesn't happen very often, even on a show as good as this one.

I'm with Mojo on the hour long episode deal as well. Maybe we could start a lettter writing campaign.

An hour would be great but I'm not getting greedy. I'm just so happy we get 20+ eps a season.

I agree with the episode being a little weak overall, I felt that about last week too. I think part of the problem is that there are so many writers and maybe the styles don't always mix. I didn't happen to look who wrote the last two weeks but they weren't as well tied together as some past eps.

Do you think next season will be their last? I have a feeling it will and would rather have it stay funny than still be on the air just to be on the air.

I don't think I can deal with the whole dwight situation.

I accidentally read the spoiler a couple months ago (douchebags on IMDB didn't put a disclaimer on it) about what happens to Dwight.

Let me just say you'll want to watch the next couple episodes if you're a Dwight fan.

Dwight working at Staples was hilarious, but I wish they had gone further with it...when I originally read that's what happens to him, I thought there was a lot of potential in it, but they only did a couple short scenes.

They do such a good job of making it tough to watch the relationship scenes between Jim & Karen or Jim & Pam.

Andy still rules...love his cell phone.

the office is great stuff and last night was a decent episode

the cell phone bit had me laughing out loud

but the relationship stuff is getting a little sitcomish i like the fact that the show was unlike regular sitcoms now their starting to follow the formula

oh fuck

Dwight: "You did all this for me?" (camera pans to "WELCOME BACK OSCAR" banner)

Michael: (almost under his breath) "Yes."

I really thought they would do more with Dwight in Staples, like K.C. said, but I'm glad to see him back. And I hope this week Andy's obnoxiousness was overdone on purpose just to make you miss Dwight, because he was so annoying I almost changed the channel. I couldn't take him "at 11" on a weekly basis.

I loved a lot of this week's episode, especially "spanish lemonade," but is there going to be a party every week?
Well, they have a large portion of the staff on the Party Planning Commitee, they had a second Party Planning Commitee and even a one man "Validation Committee" to determine if the 2nd committee is valid. With all that planning you better have a lot of partys.

Actually I used to work at a place where they did have a large number of birthday parties for the staff, at least 3 times a month along with other major holiday parties (Christmas, Holloween, etc)

Is that Jenna Fischer? Doesn't really look right.
Is that Jenna Fischer? Doesn't really look right.
It probably is, they just REALLY touched it up a lot.
It's not anywhere close to how she looks when you see normal pictures of her in something like a dress at these award shows.

Alert: New episode back next week...the commercial showed Roy coming after Jim, hmmmm. Will he really kick his ass?
I think she looks pretty damn good all the time. They touch up everything but you make it sounds like it's way off.

I think Jenna looks very good when I've seen her on and off the show. That cover made her look fake and plasticy.

OK, if you guys meant she looks worse on teh covers because it looks fake, I get that. I thought he meant she looks no where near that good normally.
Look at me being all self concious for another girl, I have issues.

Those in-between episode skits with Toby last night were douche chill inducing.
