MODS-FEEL FREE TO MOVE THIS TO THE APPROPRIATE SECTION IF NEEDED

A friend of mine has asked me to create a team of individuals who would
like to supportthe fight against ALS. Your help in this endeavor will
mean a great deal to many people who deal with this horrific disease on
a daily basis for
which there is no cure.

This friend, Paul Carr, has sent me a note that he would like to share
with you, his friends,to help you understand why this initiative is so
important. I, along with many of my friends and co-workers will be
working very hard to ensure that this is an unforgettable event.

A walk is being scheduled for Saturday, September 30th at Sherwood
Island in Westport, CT. If you would like to participate in the walk,
please let me know and you can register via the Web.

(Registration is at 10, and the walk will start at 11)
Any donation would be greatly appreciated and your attendance in the walk would be most helpful.

In order to reach and exceed Paul’s goal, with the help of many good friends,
an additional special event has been planned!! We have organized an
event to take place on Saturday evening, September 30th to raise
additional dollars for ALS in Paul’s name.

COME DRINK FOR A GOOD CAUSE

My friends at the Black Rock Castle in Bridgeport are donating their facility
for the entire evening to benefit ALS.
“Out Cold's" Maurizio Girotto and the “Gamma Rays" Greg Kiley are
donating their time into playing for the evening to benefit this cause.

There will be a $10 cover charge at the door and all proceeds will
go to the ALS foundation in Paul’s name.
Additionally, we are gathering raffle items from various sources.
Please help us in making this a special event.

For those of you who don't know what "ALS" is, it's more commonly called Lou Gehrig's Disease. It's a degenerative disease of the motor neurons and is always fatal. Research and medical technology have helped to improve the quality of life for many people, but the disease will take its course no matter what we do right now. The ALS Association is a non-profit that's trying to "strike out ALS" in its efforts to bring caregivers, medical professionals, social workers and the community together.

This is a good cause and one that's very close to my heart: my grandfather was diagnosed with ALS 3 years ago and my family
participated in our first Walk to D'Feet ALS in Bergen County this past
June. Our team raised almost $2000 for the cause!

BTW, if CT is too far for you and you want to walk, Long Island's 2006 Walk to D'Feet ALS will be taking place this Saturday (9/30) as well.

Info about The ALS Association is available online at ALSA.org
