If you think Artie is funny then you will definitley laugh during this movie! Total Jersey movie with alot of the scenes shot in rutherford, Lyndhurst, Bayonne, and even a couple of Sea side scenes. I work in Rutherford and Lyndhurst so it was really cool to see all the familiar places.

I think if Artie had put a little more thought into the writing he would have had a SMASH, instead, it was good flick with some very funny parts.. Artie definitley cracks me up!....

Seeee YAaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Its sad that Artie made a movie involving his two most sterotyped hobbies beer and baseball. Way to give the people a different aspect of your personality. It would be like Jim Norton making a movie called "Transgender Monster Rain"

Artie is GREAT. I have Sirius and i love it. All i listen to is Howard, even the re-plays. Occasionaly i'll listen to the music stations.
Saw it today because I've always liked Artie from back in his Mad TV days and Dirty Work, the movie is good, it's very funny. Jerry Minor (the black guy) from Lucky Louie is in it, playing pretty much the same character and he's pretty funny as well. Jim Breuer is in it, though not long enough those his scene is pretty good.

Reef gets it. Its a funny movie that has nothing to do with Stern. I bet while Artie is grateful to Howard for giving him the gig, he probably doesnt give a squirt of piss what Howie thinks of him or his movie. I hung out with Jackie Jokey Martling many times and even though Howie boy made fun of Jackie and his lifestyle. Jackie defended him always. I bet Artie has the same kind of relationship.

The film is very funny, go check it and try and leave the hatered of Howard behind. I used to be a huge Stern fan, now, he annoys the shit out of me. Ron and Fez are totaly where its at. O&A and Lil Jimmy, very funny too. Lets just judge some things on the funny!

saw the movie on friday night

there were a few laughs and funny moments, but the movie sucked ... the plot points were way too predictable & uninteresting, it was a very long 86 minutes with real shitty pacing & the movie had a real amatuer-ish quality to it

it reminded me of clerks (meets dodge ball): except for any the character developments & intriguing storyline; and instead of star wars references, there were a lot of (sometimes very funny) regional sports jokes

the movie was basically 90 minutes of endlessly recycled dick/gay/italian jokes told by a cast of b-level comics & random soprano cast members

wait for it on HBO

It's not a no-name movie though... They've put a shitload of money into promoting this thing. I see constant commercials and even special previews for it on YES and ESPN, as well as on the radio (WFAN). They're targetting sports fans, obviously, but there's a pretty solid amount of promotion out there. It's not King Kong, The Matrix, or Lord of the Rings, but it's not exactly obscure either. I'm still gonna check it out cuz I like beer, baseball, and the funny.

reef, since i trust you to be honest with you opinions, do you feel he promoted it enough or not enough for someone that on his staff.

Frankly I don't think he promoted it enough, but I also don't think he's that kind of guy. Where Norton would slip in whatever gig he's got going into a conversation, Artie doesn't seem to do that, so he just takes whatever he can.

I think it needs to open on more screens and he needs to put himself out there more to do better, but my guess is that he won't. Plus the movie studio should promote it more, and honestly I think Howard should have done him a solid and pumped it up more. He definitely gave it a good review and all, but he should have talked the movie up more than he did.

Movies like this are usually designed to be more profitable on DVD than in the theatres.

Clerks II only made 25 million dollars.
When Norton had O&A stand up during the HBO ONE NIGHT STAND and let them take a bow? Was that more acceptable than anything Artie has done? I can appreciate loyalty. Sure. But c'mon. When it comes to shameless self-promotion O&A are the all time champs. Anything for more press. But when Norton had them stand up during his ONE NIGHT STAND appearance? Granted. It was his special and he could do whatever he wanted. But it should have remained his special. And O&A shouldn't have entered into it. If pre-planned it was kinda bush-league and needy on O&A's part. If spontaneous it was bush-league and needy on Jimmy's.

And as far as all their bragging about appearances on late night talk shows? The champion hog-caller from North Carolina made annual appearances on Carson's show. They all have had their share of jugglers. Letterman has had long string of stupid human and pet tricks. Get over yourselves. You were on Letterman? Congrats. That makes you about as big as someone who has their dog hump their leg...while whistling DIXIE. Now if the dog whistles DIXIE...that's BIG!

Heard it was actually funny and I guess I'm a little biased bc my business partner has few pals in the movie. There just one step above extras, but they got in bc they know Artie growing up in NJ and word is he's pretty damn good to his pals of old. You have to respect that, but not his work on Stern. So I finally saw this movie and had to say it sucked.
It was basically Artie doing his stand-up written into a " script ".
I will say I laughed at a few lines because I'm a huge fan pf ptty humor but sadly for Artie most of the funny lines came from the old guy that was the pitcher.
Even Jim Bruer, who I think is very unfunny, had a better appearance than Arite.
I actually think Beer Fest was a funnier movie. Clearly less predictable.
