so here i am in a nice coffe shop relaxing this job in Daytona is by
the far the toughest physically that i have ever encountered. what
really just makes it hard is the surf like yesterday it was aout 6-10ft
swells and we are workign right where the waves break. so its 7am i get
dressed out and get ready to go in a drive a pile even with my heavy
weghts on the water has no trouble throwing me like a rag doll 30 feet
into barnacle covered piles. so thats not the only danger theres also
a pile dangleing from above swingign east to west numerous come alongs
holding down the other pile we have drove. alomost six hrs in th water
fighting the water trying to guiade this pile in a ring straight while
im getting thrown into cabvles piles geting smaked by the pile were
driving. and when the pile was almost in the jet pump we had to hooked
up to it broke. now if we lost this mupm we have to pull the pile out
and start all over. so i tried holding the jet pipe together while im
getting the shitt kicked out of me to jet the last 4 feetand then we
lost presssure in the hose an im fuckign pissed. so the pile had to be
pulled out im trying to disconnect peices with very little energy left
nad the last ten min was jsut a horrible beating smashed in to piled
left and right and eventually rolling my ankle so i wsa fucked and i
had to get out so the pulled me to the ladder tried to go up big ass
wave smashes me into the lasdder nadi go back down wait for the next
big wave then scramble up the laadder as fast as i could awith a fucked
up ankle. needless to say im hurting pretty bad todya but damn i love
my job.
