I thought I'd share some news with the board.  I just accepted an offer from a client of mine to work for them as an in-house attorney.  I'll be getting a pay cut, but my hours will be much less, and I'll have a better lifestyle, and can spend more time with my wife and daughter.  I'll also be moving to Hartford as well. I'm hoping I'll be able to listen to R&F at work, but we'll see.  I defnitely would like to attend a R&F event or two before the move.

Congrats on the new job.  I have a friend that is clerking for a second straight year because he's in no hurry to jump into the super long work weeks that big law firms demand.  Sounds like you're making the smart choice.

Fantastic news, Eli.  Congrats and best of luck.It's refreshing to see someone make a choice based on values other than the almighty dollar.  I commend you on your decision.  You can't leave 'til you buy me a drink, though.

Ive been working for 18 years, so please allow my 42,000 dollar a year ass (with a BA and MA) to be as jealous as hell of you. Im envious and very very jealous that you make lots of money AND are part of the American Royalty known as "Lawyers".(No matter what a woman will tell you,...she will cream her panties just knowing your a lawyer). Im too old, and not smart enough to become one so ill continue to be jealous.I KNOW im not the only one. ANy other miserable hard working underacheivers out there?

Also factor in that you'll be moving from Manhattan to Hartford, and will probably be bored shitless in 6 months. I know living in the city is stressful and drives people nuts, but everyone I know who left has missed it ever since. But you having a wife and kid, its probably inevitible.
