Hey guys... got another problem that I hope you can help me with.

I saved a .pdf file from my university website. It reads normally on screen but when I print, instead of words, it prints a series of characters. What can I do to fix this?

I already tried to print it as an image, and that yielded a blank page.

Please help!

That's kinda odd. Does your printer ever have any problems? It could be like a driver or something. You should also open the document and go to file->document security and see if there is any security on the pdf. If there is security, set it to no security. Also, does any information print correctly, like images or text, or does it all print messed up.

Sounds like you may need the Adobe PS drivers.
I would try updating your printer drivers.

Are you using the latest version of Acrobat Reader (7.0.8)?

This link also offers some suggestions from Adobe other than printing as an image.

You may want to start by trying to print a different pdf. If it prints, then you know it's the file and not the computer and/or printer.

Bumping this up because I'm still having a major issue where it prints the document as a series of random characters rather than the actual form I need! Help!!!
I know it sounds like a stupid question but have you tried another PDF file? or even to print from another program and see if it prints correctly. One cause could be a bad file. You may see it correctly on the screen, but it may not print out correctly if it is not all there. The other thing is to check your settings to make sure it is printing to the correct printer, and it is set up correctly.
