What makes Crankcase so great?

I've never heard them because I've never been to a party, nor could I listen to the show during that era, but what is it about Crankcase that's magical? MikeyD's drum playing?

Oh, and I'm interested in hearing about what kind of energy Moshin brought to the table during the Mighty Mighty Moshtones era. Or just more about Moshin in general.
