October is the best month of the year. Halloween, Octoberfest,, and
(you guessed it!) my birthday. I plan on celebrating the latter two at
the beer garden in Astoria. Bring on the drunken debauchery..<br />

Just got back from this year's extravaganza. Those crazy Germans sure know how to throw a party. The day was scorching but the Warsteiner was ice cold and flowing and the veal bratwurst and sauerkraut were exemplary.
Yes, I know its only September but who cares. Ach du lieber!

Oktoberfest does start in September, but it is still technically too early, not that I think its ever really to early to celebrate.

Down here in Daytona Beach we have Biketoberfest (http://www.biketoberfest.org/index.cfm). This year will be my first and I will let you know how it goes. I anticipate lots of bikes, beers, babes and wiener schnitzels. My camera will be ready and I will post pics...I promise.:thumbup::thumbup:

That sounds like a great time TJ! I might have to put it on my radar for next year. I know there are some other Octoberfests kicking off soon at breweries/brewpubs in my area, so I may have to log a report if I get to go.
:drunk:
Anybody ever been to the Hofbräuhaus in Las Vegas? Their Octoberfest starts next weekend. I have wanted to go since it opened in 2004. It is an exact replica of the original Hofbräuhaus and they have the beer shipped directly from the brewery in Munich.
