Have you ever remembered something someone has said (let's say a significant other) from a long time ago and it still reverberates in your head? I have a tendancy to remember EVERYTHING people say to me....and I find that even though a comment might have been made years ago I still remember it, or worse; I still resent what that person said.

Does anyone else do this or is it just me?

I have one! My ex-girlfriend once complained that "you only take me to Italian restaurants". In hindsight I should have showed some testicular fortitude and replied to her with "First, you never offered any suggestions and second, you never complained when I was paying for you."

I also remember my Dad's advice to me about women: "It's always someone's daughter".

This is why I only say negative things to Fallon and the other folks in this thread.

They can't even remember my name, let alone what I call THEM.

I guess I am overly sensative ...and most of the things I remember happen to come from someone who is just naturally very crass....that doesnt help either.

Ummm How about also remembering EXACTLY what you were wearing at the time the comment was made as well as where you were etc. Eg; Penn station, waiting for a train to get in so we could go home, it was late October like 2 years ago, I was wearing Jeans, boots, black sweater. We were eating lunch and a comment was made about an ex that I wont forget, it made me feel like I could never live up to I guess that persons memory or what he felt about her....for lack of a better term.

I torture myself with this shit....not just this experience, but others....
