When I was just out of high school some of my friends went to this one kids house to get wasted. It was a Monday night and I had work the next morning so I didn't go because I wasn;t in the mood to deal with a hangover. The next afternoon I learned that my one friend flipped out and stabbed the other two kids that were there. They were in pretty bad shape, they lived but were in ICU for a while. I was wondering if anyone else made a small decision that resulted in them avoiding a bad situation.

<p>I made a small decision once that ended utter disaster.</p><p>Fatback just that very day, got his Camaro RS. V8, T-roof, leather, Beautiful.</p><p>After work, he says "Let's go out for a ride in my new car!" "OK, Cool. Let's GO!" Me, Fatback, Mr. Pib and PegBoy hop into the car. Just doing some highway cruising. He took 208 all the way up to 202. Chucked a left on Ramapo Valley and wound up in front of RJ's. "Hey, lets go grab a beer and toast my car."</p><p>We went in, ordered a round of drafts, and were listening to the DJ spin some great Rock and Roll. 1 round led to 2, then another, and another.</p><p>"OK, it's a work night. We better get out of here." "Right. Straight down 208 and we are home in 20 minutes."</p><p>Jump back on the highway. Get into Franklin Lakes. "Hey, I haven't seen Ellysa in a while. Wanna stop and say Hi?" Exit on Summit Ave. A twisty, hilly road. But we have a performance vehicle. No problem.</p><p>Except for that hairpin turn and steel guardrail!!</p><p>Long story short. The car was demolished. If not for a few good connections and name dropping, probably a night in jail. His mommy had to come and pick us up. The kids in the jeep who tried to tow us out (after we insisted they leave) got charged, 2 years of payments on a car that was rusting away in a junkyard.</p><p>All started with saying yes to a ride in the new car,</p>

Not my story but my moms. It starts out a ghost story. When she was a little kid, she asked a ouija board who she was going to marry, and it kept responding "fountain blue." And she didn't know what it meant. Like 15 years later, she met my dad, and the night they met, my dad was supposed to go to the fountain blue. I think it was a restaurant or a hotel. He didn't because he met my mom, and decided to take her out. The restaurant/hotel or whatever it was, burnt down that night, and a bunch of people died. My mom tells it like it's a true story, and she's never really lied to me. Pretty weird.

When i was around 9 (1971) we were on vacation in Ft Laurdedale(sp?) and we took a visit to Miami. I remember my grandfather made a point of us visiting the Fountain Blue. One thing i remember was the huge banquet rooms and my grandfather saying he had stayed at the hotel for his union business...</p>

I just asked my mom and she said it was in florida, and the year would have been 1979. But I got the story a little wrong. My dad was supposed to go to the fountain blue with his friend that night, and he didn't go. The guy was found murdered, execution style, bound and shot in the back of the head. I guess they told me a different story was I was younger.</p>
