Dead Rising

<p>Ok, bought my XBox360 last night along with Call of Duty 2 (haven't played it yet) and Dead Rising.</p><p>&nbsp;Dead Rising is fun, and nothing beats a lawn mower thru a crowd of zombies, but I think the text is going to either make me insane or blind.&nbsp; I play on a 20&quot; tv, which makes it fucking impossible to read what the people are saying or what the dude on the radio is saying to me.&nbsp; Fucking pain in the ass when they give you missions, mission pointers, and plot points that you need to do in microscopic print.</p><p>Any one else getting pissed off by this?&nbsp;</p>

It's ridiculous to think that they would aim only for the HD market, when they are such a minority still.<br />

You mocked me last night for only having XBox (non 360). But I do have it hooked up to HD 16:9 and 5:1 surround. I was going to invite you over. You bring the 360, I'll buy the beers,&nbsp;but now you can just bite me!

<p>I play on a 20&quot; tv</p><p>i've been debating for about 2 months whether to get a 360. does the picture look better then a regular xbox without hd? i have a good size tele but its not high def. i was thinking i'd have to buy an entire new set up just so my games look good. i can get a 360 for 325, and have it modded so i dont have to buy any of the games, yet 325 for a system that will look pretty much the same as my old one still seems steep.</p>

<p>I bit the bullet this month and upgraded from a 20&quot; tv to a 50&quot; sony HDTV. I didn't buy the 360 until i got the new TV, and am very happy with it in HD mode. I would never have bought the 360 for my 20&quot; tv, I think it would be a waste of graphics power. Fight Night round 3 is unbelievable in HD.<br /> </p><p>The thing that frustrates me more than the text is the horrible save system in Dead Rising.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Eh, I haven't gotten to the point where I'm saving regularly in Dead Rising yet.&nbsp; I'm still just mauling zombies and levelling up.&nbsp; Made level 10 last night.&nbsp; </p><p>Best weapons so far are the lawn mower and chainsaw.<br /></p>

(Was only $1700 with a custom built high quality screen.&nbsp; Some of you should look into it).</p><p>&nbsp;The 360 looks a lot better, even if you don't have HD.&nbsp; It can also do things (like have a few hundred zombies on the screen at one time) where the old xbox can't.&nbsp; Xbox Live is awesome too.<br /></p>

I'm a couple days in on my free Gold month and so far I don't see anything that makes me want to pay for it. </p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Sorry, I didn't think that image was a spoiler as it was in the commercial. &nbsp;</p><p>Xbox live means that you can play against real players 24/7.&nbsp; Make sure you get in some quality time with <span class="postbody">Call of Duty 2 and then play on Xbox Live before your month is up.&nbsp; Xbox live also ranks you in every game and high score that you have nationally as well as a listing of all your scores against your friends in a separate list.&nbsp; I'm also an achievement whore.&nbsp; The fact that everyone in the world can see your greastest gaming accomplishments makes you try a little bit harder.</span></p><p>Microsoft also released a programming package that lets hobbiest game coders write their own code that can be run on the xbox 360 which requires xbox live.&nbsp; I would like to write a game in the Tetris/Hexic genre for the 360, so I'm all over that. </p><p>Other games that I recommend:&nbsp; Kameo (took years to create), Condemned (creepy and awesome in surround sound), Oblivion (if you like RPGs), Rockstar Table Tennis</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>I use GameznFlix.com.&nbsp; For $17/month you get three Xbox 360 games at the same time.&nbsp; It is WAY cheaper than buying games for me because I would probably buy one $60 game a month.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

Just started playing this game over the weekend. I don't have an HDTV and I'm playing on a 19" TV. I have no over-riding need to get an HDTV beyond this game and I can't justify $1200 on a TV that might go obsolete in a year. The text is fucking killing my eyesight tho. The save option is lousy but the fact that the whole game is on a timer is fucking irritating as well.

Other than that, it's a great game.
