Back in July I got a ticket for open container outside of Shea Stadium.

The ticket itself says I have to show up to plead guilty.

There's gotta be a way that I can just pay this without having to go to court no ?

Incidentally I no longer live at the address listed and I was not asked to nor did I sign the ticket.

Add to this that the cop said that he didnt have another document that he was supposed to give to me.

Any ideas ?

you didnt get a ticket you got a summons. you must show up for a summons where the fine will be levied and the date to pay it by will be issued. trust me i got a summons for possession of marijuana a few years ago. bulshit $50 fine and it was off my record in 6 months. funny side note i was caught with a quarter ounce of haze and when the police took my haze i lost more from that than from the fine itself.

I was in Virginia once, and I got pulled over for speeding, and they cop gave me a reckless driving ticket, which meant I would have had to drive back to virginia to appear in court. I called up the court and asked them what I could do, and they told me I could write in a plea. I wrote in and pleaded guilty, and they sent me a bill. I don't know if it's the same, but it may be.

well i know at the hearing the judge said if i dont pay it on time a warrant would be issued for my arrest. assume the same could be true if u dont show up for your court date.

The cop had mentioned something about sending it in and they " may " bill me.

If I remember correctly that was the missing piece of paper that he didnt have.

I kinda took obe for the team in this one.

We had like 25 people under the over-pass playing beer pong and I had just taken a beer out of the cooler and was in the process of transfering it to a cup ( which he admitted he didnt care about )

The can wasnt even open yet so the irony of it was that I was the only one w/out an open container.

I didnt wanna cause a stir so I took the hit.

Fascists.

Kinda lame that Shea doesnt allow you to tailgate inside the parking lot.

For that alone I hope tha Mets lose 3 straight in the NLDS.

Well I guess technically it wasn't " at the ball game " since it was outside.

I'll gladly send them the $25 I just dont wanna waste my time going down there.

I'll send them $50 if it'll make them happy.

That cop did the right thing. What's next, sparking up your crack pipe in front of innocent little kids, you druggie? Maybe doing some lines off the urinal inside Shea stadium is your idea of a good time.

Think about the children!

How does drinking a beer in front of kids become a bad thing? He wasnt drinking and driving with kids in the car. He was drinking a beer like people drink soda. I dont drink, but I never understood how driniking outside was a problem. Why does everything have to be about the kids. Can adults not do anything anymore because a child may see it? No drinking, no smoking, no adult conversations, no nothing because someone elses kid may be walking by. If people dont want their kids seeing people drunk or drinking, here is an idea. Do Not Bring Them to a Game!

Another annoying thing about that day was that I never ever saw the beer guy in the satnds the entire time I was there.

It was the day of the double header against Florida ( maybe 7/7 ).

I got into the first game in like the 4th, bought a beer at the stand before going to my seat, and between the end of that game and the 3rd inning of the second game no beer guy.

I saw the Nathan's guy and Pepsi guy about 100 times each.
