I haven't been playing the ARG or anything, but I have been following along with the developments and what it boils down to is a series of video clips that are being compiled into a huge video of a Hanso Foundation meeting that is supposed to have occurred recently in Sri Lanka. It's only about 4 minutes so far. Not a big time investment.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbaDnwB_n_g

Even though the show just irritates the hell out of
me, having a consecutive run of 6 weeks starting in October and then
running consecutively to the end of the season starting in January,
that may peak my interest having it every week. Just the whole every
other week on and off thing drove me batty. Hope this does the trick.

The premiere episode of season 3 is on October 4th NOT September 27th as some ads will mislead you. The 9/27 is just a clips show to cover the first two seasons.

If what you guys are saying about 6 weeks of new episodes followed by a long hiatus leading up to the final 18 episodes straight through then I am thrilled. I'd much rather have this format as oppossed to the constant tease we all went through during last season.

I just ordered Disc 6 of season 2 to watch the finale again as I only had a chance to see it once which was certainly not enough.

I am hoping this year they tone down on the "filler" nonsense (Hurley, Sawyer and frog episode type of scenes) cause there were way too many of them for my taste and patience. The shows just too good to be chewing up so much time on silly shit for the rest of the content while frustrating and questionable at times is very intelligent and extremely entertaining.

I just want to throw out there a really funny moment I saw while watching season 2 on DVD that I can't remember if I caught the first time, it's an episode or two after Sawyer steals all the guns, and Kate comes up to him on the beach and he's reading a Judy Blume book. It really made me laugh. And I work in a library so I see those stupid books every day.

wowwwwwwwwwww

what a great startoff to the third season. i guess because jack is like a caged animal i was rooting for him a lot more than i ever have and just wanted him to break that bitches neck once he got out. she was putting up such a phony fucking front the whole time. and we still dont know who "He" is. i thought thats who zeke was taking kate to at the beginning, but it was just fake henry (who i guess is still a candidate for "He," except he discredited himself last season). i just keep wondering what the fuck they're gonna start doing to them. the next episode probably wont deal with those 3 at all and just focus on camp/hatch, so im guessing we have to wait 2 weeks to find out what happens next with them.

I kinda wish Jack's dad had been fucking Jack's ex-wife. That would have been really screwed up. The overriding theme I got are that the others don't seem to be a united front at all, and I think that might play a role. What was up with that other kid who was imprisoned anyway?

If it weren't for the fact the the beginning of the first season was completely awesome, I would say that tonight's was the best so far. That was cool seeing them come out of their village and seeing the plane tear apart over their heads. Oh, and this new chick is pretty hot as well.

So, did anyone get the notion that Zeke might be gay based on what he said to Kate about her not being "his type?" Come on, how can that piece of ass not be everyone's type?

I always wondered how long they were going to keep doing the flashback thing. Really cool idea that worked really well the first year, but I'm not quite sure where they are going nowadays. The premiere did what every episode has done, do just enough to keep people watching, while moving extremely slow with the storyline.

At the open of the show, Juliette retrieves a CD from a rack of CDs, opens it and places it in a CD player. The CD case was Talking Heads - Speaking In Tongues. Of this I am certain. The track that actually played was Downtown by Petula Clark...

And this clearly means-- what? Oh I have a phone call.

PS - My avatar made me post this.

I'm just happy to see that Jack is still unable to go any longer than 4 seconds without crying. And seriously, is Sawyer not the fucking best? With his fucking fish biscuit. Classic. And I think the kid imprisoned with Sawyer is one of The Others; definately a plant to fuck with him.

I think what "caused the earthquake" was when Desmond, for the first time, didn't enter the numbers into the computer on schedule. And the numbers not being punched in on time was what caused the plane to crash. What was the song Desmond wakes up to or plays he first time you see him going through his routine in the hatch? Was it also Downtown? Juliette isn't Desmond's ex fiance is she?

Especially since we wont find out about them til NEXT week!

And I disagree that the crash is CERTAINly an accident. Ben did seem PRETTY prepared; had an immediate action plan...and no one was wondering WHY he needed lists, etc... Maybe they all expected a eplane to come, but didnt know WHEN. Remember, the survivors are all pretty much connected to the rich guy from the end of last season... and I think we'll find out this season how the OTHERS are connected to him as well, other than just mere employees.

And now that the magnet's dead, can Locke walk? I liked last nights episode, but the comercials are still rediculous. It seems to me that Ben and Juliette are old lovers. That would explain the tension between them, and the way that girl acted when she walked in on them. At first I thought that Juliette might secretly have a desire to undermine whatever the others are doing, but she seems very involved, it appeared she was helping run the costruction Sawyer and Kate were working on, and she took care of the Sawyer situation when it got out of control. The others getting the boat was no surprise. I don't know what Sayid was expecting to happen, he might have been getting desperate, because there was no way his plan would work. I'm surprised at how quickly Jack broke. Ben knew exactly what it took to do it. Maybe he knew he would be easy, and that's why they are putting Sawyer and Kate through manaul labor, to weaken them so they are easier to break. I'm really looking forward to seeing what is going on with the other side of the island, looks like the smoke monster is coming back!

The show is going to great lengths to make the "others" seem like ordinary people. But did they ever explain why that bullet bounced off the man in the woods last season?

The other thing I keep coming back to from last season is the episode where we see what happens to Claire when she was captured. I thought that was a crucial part of the story. But they never mention it again on the show and they never bring it up on any of the recap episodes they show every once in a while.

Next week's episode looks killer. I really want to know what happened to Locke, Eko and Desmond and the other hatch people. And I agree that there's something off about Charlie now. In the last episode of season 2, he has this weird look on his face when he runs into Locke crying in the woods. And then he helps Eko with the dynamite. Was he still pissed at Locke for breaking up his fake marriage with Claire earlier last season?

Here's a little nitpick, but it kinda gnawed at me - when Hurley ran into naked Desmond in the jungle, he says something along the lines of "so, the hatch blew all your clothes off?" But how would Hurley have known anything about what happened to the hatch? He was with Kate, Jack and Sawyer at the time, captured by the others. All he knew was the bright light in the sky and "vibrations." Right? Or did I miss something?

I thought Hurley had seen the blown up hatch and/or that Desmond had mentioned something about it.

Ok. I just rewatched it. Hurley met up with Locke and Charlie before meeting up with Desmond. So, although we dont see him being told about it, its feasible to assume that they told him. After all, when we come back from commercial, he's just finishing up telling THEM about Jack, James, Kate and Ben.

Now, during the dream sequence at the airport; when Locke is looking around for people to help, and looks at Charlie, Claire and Aaron, Boone says, "theyll be okay....for awhile."
This season has been great so far. I agree that the second half of last season could have been better. There were some really bizarre episodes leading up to the finale (which was killer). But all-in-all, the show keeps getting better and this season is off to a great start.

The only thing I don't like anymore is the flashbacks. Ronnie is 100% correct. There is WAY too much happening on that island and the flashbacks seem like a distraction to me.

As for last night's episode, if Jack is right, that he was captured to work on that dude's back, what purpose do Jack and Kate serve. My guess, based on the fact that whats-her-name is a fertility doctor, is that Kate will be impregnated by the others. I think they're trying to get to all of them, starting with Jack. I'm not convinced he's as cooperative as they think he is. I rarely will get into a show if I haven't seen it from the beginning but I have with Lost. I saw a few episodes in the first season but never got the chance to watch it regularly. So I've started watching it with this season and so far I like it. I know I've missed a bunch of stuff, though I did read up a bit on things and some friends have told me some things to fill in the gaps so far so I can follow things along. I'm now tempted to get the first two seasons.

I still LOVE this show (even though surprisingly I do have other things going on in my life....steels?)

I always laugh to myself when I read here about the people who dont "get" the flashbacks. The flashbacks arent filler. They ARE the show. The characters just cant sit around a campfire and tell stories about why theyre on the island. THAT would get old. These people were all brought togther for a reason, and the flashbacks are part of the mystery that we are trying to unravel. If when you see a flashback, you jsut get upset and dismiss it, or take the opportunity to get a drink or go to the bathroom, you are missing a very important part of the show. Its not just about the island and surviving/getting off...its WHY ARE THEY THERE??? and the flashbacks help us figure that out.

I for one cant wait to find out more about this season's "new" survivors...and how ar we gonna do that? FLASHBACKS!

It also helps if you think of the island (or islands, now) as another character. It lives. It has a past, and it has a purpose for being in the show too. Personally, I was psyched at the reveal in episode 1 this season about how big it is....and now about how there's (at least) 2 of them! (also if u go back and watch the reveal in episode 1 this season, you can see that there are 2 islands...just looked like 1 from the angle!) The island is cloaked from the outside world, dont you think a sister island could be cloaked from the survivors?

The show, the island, and the characters in it, are all about mysteries slowly being unvelied. Not to sound like bizarrosteels, but I think the people who are losing faith in this show are the product of a microwave oven, 30minutes delivery or its free, cops solve the crime in 50minutes, rapid fire world. This show is a puzzle. It takes patience. It's not for everyone, but if you liked it when you 1st saw it, theres no reason not to still be enjoying it.

This show does have its handicap, in that unlike 24 where you could turn in this season for the very 1st time and still thoroughly enjoy the show without knowing anything about the last 5(?) seasons, you really cant get the whole idea of Lost without watching it from the start. And for that reason, its not likely to pick up new viewers each season, and those that get dislillusioned quickly, will leave.

And for that reason, I do occasionally fear that it will run too long, or suddenly be cancelled, without ever being able to wrap up, and then having to wait 3 years for a 2 hour movie finale. But if youre a loyal viewer toying with the the idea that the writers have lost their way, and are only using filler to entertain us until they get to 100 episodes....rent season 1 (as i just did). There are so many things in season 1 that, although at the time, meant nothing, but now 2 seasons later, make alot of sense. (for example, Michael tells Walt that he'll go find Vincent as soon as it stops raining. Walt looks outside, and it stops raining. Then Walts playing backgammon with Hurley, rolling perfect numbers every time, saying his dad says he's the luckiest guy he knows. At that time, we didnt know Walt was a very special boy, they were just litle instances in a quirky little show. But now they make alot a sense in the grand scheme of the show!)

This show is NOT for everyone, its not a cookie cutter mystery of obvious good guy vs obvious bad guy, it's harder than that, but if you can fit it into your busy lives, and take the time to enjoy a new kind of entertainment each week, I'm very certain that in the end youll be happy you did.

I totally do not trust Ben or Juilete. I think there may be conflict between the two, but I think they are both working towards the same objective, whatever that may be. Juliete took care of Jack and Sawyer when they began some kind of revolt, and she appeared to be leading whatever the construction effort is they've got going on. I refuse to believe Ben wouldn't pick up on the secret tape thing, he's been extremely brilliant so far, and unless he was sleeping or taking a shit, I don't think he would let something like that slip by.

I'm not sure what what the smoke monster is, but it was testing Eko. It could have killed him several times over before he finally refused to repent, and then at that point it took care of him quickly. I really hope he comes back in some way in future episodes, he was by far my favorite character. The internal conflict in him was great, but I guess loosing that conflict was what killed him.

For the first time in the series, I'm disappointed with Lost.

What was the point of even having a "Tailes" story if they are all killed off? I know Bernard is still alive, but dammit, Eko was a great character and now it just seems it was pointless for him to even be there.

ChrisTheCop

We havent seen Bernard this season, but my guess is he'll be the next to die. Poor Rose.

And yeah, ok, the Juliet-Jack scene was horrid. If Ben was watching, he'd be able to see a reflection in the glass, that altho he might not be able to make out, he'd probably be able to tell it wasnt Gregory Peck. He runs a pretty tight ship. I'm sure he was in on it, or will find out.

And Eko shoudve died in the hatch. Be happy we had him for 2 extra eps. If Locke dies, cry then.

Are you guys forgetting that Rose has cancer too and is fine? That Locke should be paralyzed but he's fine?

If Ben really DOES have cancer, why doesn't the island 'magic' work on him? That's why I don't believe it. But they are really doing a number on Jack.

And when was the last time we saw the French woman? When 'Henry' was caught in the net?
Hank's cancer could indeed be a lie, but I also think that he could get cancer. He was (allegedly) born on the island, and ya gotta die from something, right. It's not all instant health on the island for everyone; for example, Sawyer's eyesight. But yeah, I dont believe theyre done fucking with Jack at all.
WOWEEWOWEEEWOW! Great, great ep. Best Jack episode since at least season one, maybe ever. When he found the gun cabinet, I literally said out loud, "Ohhhhhhh, Jack, you bad motherfucker."

I was always a Kate-Sawyer guy, but tonight I loathed it. I was watching their shit through my fingers, but I almost cried at the Kate Jack reunion. I guess you never can tell. By the end I was just frazzled beyond words. I actually went slack jawed when that final LOST screen came up.

Couple that with the fact that it was the second game of a doubleheader with this week's Dexter, and that's a damn fine night of television. Anyone who isn't watching that show as well needs to be informed of what it is they are missing.

Ok guys, one week. What's it gonna take to get you excited?

I've been so hampered by the so so first few ep's of this season coupled with the long break that I've been watching seasons 1 and 2 over again and enveloping myself in Lost stuff on the internet. I think it's working, and I'll be good to go next Wed.

God I hope they don't disappoint.

Btw I'm totally fine with 7 seasons, but I think 5 would be better. Maybe even six.

What are they going to need to do to keep me? Honestly I don't remember how it ended. Surgery, rain, escape or something like that.

Here's a short review:

First, the good news: Tonight's episode of Lost -- the first original to be telecast by ABC since November 8 -- is the best of the series' third season to date. It's filled with the action, suspense and high drama that fans of this show crave, but there is much more to celebrate. The present-day island story (one that is actually taking place in the fall of 2004) finally begins to move forward in exciting new ways, while the flashback provides a host of tantalizing clues about two of the central mysteries that define the show's mythology: Who are the Others and what the hell are they doing on these islands?

But if you look at the bigger picture of Lost, there's a circularity to the way that story is going to unfold in the overall mythology, and that is a long, planned approach.
I have only watched 2 or 3 episodes through all 3 season. But I was looking at yahoo and started watching this clip thinking it was only going to be 2 minutes. Well it was tonight full first spisode (the one at 9) it basically gets you up to date and explains all the storylines. This is great for someone who really never seen the show and gets you up to date, plus this has made me interested and I might statt watching it every week.

http://tv.yahoo.com/videos

I guess look for lost and it will be there.

I have high hopes for tonight, an Entertainment Weekly critic raved about it and I've been hearing similar thoughts elsewhere. I haven't read any spoilers and I won't, but is tonight about that new chick that works with Henry, cause if tonight is another Jack episode I am going to shoot my T.V. like Elvis in his Lazyboy.

Oh, also I started watching the podcasts this weekend and at one point in the first one Linderlof and Cuse said definitively that there were two factions of Others. How the fuck did I miss that? Does anyone know who they're hinting at? I think they're tricking us into thinking that the Others who have Jack, Kate, and Sawyer are the 'good' faction and the other faction is 'bad' when down the road they'll pull the ole switcheroo on us and we'll see that the faction who have Jack et al are really the bad guys.

It was pretty damn good. Glad Danny's dead, he was annoying as all hell. And now we have a new question (grrr!) about Alex. Do we still think she's Russo's kid now that we know she's Henry's? Why was the company Jules was going to work for (clearly Dharma, the pentagon's, Evan) not called Dharma?

I was a little disappointed to not even get a quick glance at anyone else on the main island, and there weren't any huge reveals I was hoping for, but otherwise very good and some nice unexpected reveals to boot.

The companys name is just a front. Anyone catch what the name of the person was who she was meeting when she was reminded about the apointment? Probably nothing but good episode. And now we know the others can't get off the island after the button wasn't pushed.
