Peru or Greece??

I went to Greece on my honeymoon and loved it.&nbsp; Don't go to Athens however, its a shithole.&nbsp; Stick to the islands, Crete especially.

<p>I've been to Crete and it was great.</p><p>Good snorkling and the best Gyros I have ever had in my life.&nbsp; Seeing all the ruins is cool too, like the place where the Minotaur was said to live in the stories.</p><p>So my vote is for Greece if you are going to the island.&nbsp; Never been to the mainland.&nbsp;</p>

<p>well being i have been to greece over 20 times (thats what I get for having a dad who was born and grew up there) I suggest Greece, some very beautiful parts of the country, but the beach communities are completely different then the country.&nbsp; If you are going to the islands..i recommend Santorini, Mykonos is also very beautiful but has now become the gay community, but the island is still amazing just most of the clubs are gay clubs nowadays.&nbsp; </p><p>If you are going inland I recommend&nbsp;Thessaloniki beautiful city one of the largest aside from Athens.&nbsp; It is also the capital of Macedonia. </p><p>Athens is not a complete shithole.</p><p>Be prepared if you go to country cities that there will not be alot of places with indoor plumbing.&nbsp; The houses will be beautiful marble houses, but still might have outhouses, it just varies per region.&nbsp; Marble is very cheap there so easy to build with it while the sewer is not great. </p>

GREECE..................The exchange from dollar to euro will kill you. The bad part of Greece is its so freaking expensive a coffee at the metro, which is the center of Athens goes for 6 euro's. But the history and the beauty are priceless..................

I've never been to either place, but I have had three friends that went to machu pichu and they all said it was the most amazing thing they have done.&nbsp; I think Peru is more adventure travel than greece.&nbsp; Greece I think is more beautiful islands and ruins.

go to greece.&nbsp;&nbsp; athens was pretty gross when i was there but i hear that its so differnet since the olympics.&nbsp; but the islands are amazing.&nbsp; rhodes &amp; kos expecially.<br />

Thanks for all of your input.&nbsp; Since this is a &quot;school&quot; trip I will talk to the professors that will be overseeing the trips and soon make my decision.&nbsp; I agree that Greece would be picturesque but also that Peru would be more of an adventure.&nbsp; I don't think I would be dissapointed with either.&nbsp; Thanks again, everyone.

I watched Anthony Bordain in Peru and it looked pretty amazing. At one point he was drinking some random alcoholic drink out a big gulp-sized cup.

But I think most of Peru is at crazy altitudes. He was having some serious trouble coping with that at Cuzco.
