I think they'll make the playoffs but it will be a really hard division this year. I'm in enemy territory down here and listen to Dallas sports radio everyday so I hear in detail about all of the good and bad from the Cowboys.I think the key for the Giants is the secondary. Our offense was solid last year, I don't think it will get any worse but Eli does need to be more consistent.I'll be at the October 23rd MNF game (on my birthday) in Dallas. I've gone the last three years to the games in Dallas. We lost last year in overtime and it sucked so bad. But I'm really looking forward to it. We should be 4-1 or 3-2 going into that game. I think it will be a big one but chances are they'll end up splitting again.

Aggie I would not really worry about Dallas this year.Picking up T.O. is the WORST thing that ego-ridden owner Jerry could have done. Parcells will not and so far HAS not dealt with any of T.O.'s whiney horse shit. (Oh my vagina..I mean...hammy). Their egos will drag the team down. Every fantasy guru is saying T.O. is not to be picked up first round like he used to be in previous years. Everyone predicts that Dallas will be a 9-7 team AT BEST. And as we know 9-7 does not get you into the playoffs most of the time.I think we should worry about the Redskins above anyone else in our division. Eagles are not as much of a threat any more.Giants have a really good shot at 12-4 this year. I think one of their losses will be to Washington. At Washington. But then again...as the saying goes..."On any given sunday..." I actually just got an email from the Giants saying that they still have single game luxury suites available starting at $15,000.00 per game.  Anyone want to kick in for a board outing? Nah thanks...I have my seasons ready to go. No need to hock a kiddney for a luxury box suite.

No need to hock a kiddney for a luxury box suite.This message was edited by Justice4all on 8-28-06 @ 4:33 PM The sad thing is that you're fucking serious.  Figures from the bet we had last year on the SD/NYG game.  The Cowboys WILL be in the thick of it all year and the Redskins will not.  They lost huge players on D, have an injured RB, Betts is not Portis and Duckett will get injured as well like always.  Not to mention their QB is old and looks fucking awful right now.  Also, if the TO factor is so huge in your eyes, why wouldn't the Eagles rebound without him right back to the NFC championship level team they were for a few years in a row?  Make up your mind, is he or isn't he the reason for everything that goes on in the division?  The Eagles will be a tough team on D and plenty good on O especially if Buckhalter (sp) stays healthy and bc they just added some talent at WR with Donte Stallworth.  You blow me away with your logic sometimes and it all adds up in the end huh?  I'd go as far as picking the Skins to finish last in the division with the Giants and Cowboys close right till the end and Philly not too far behind.  Their is a chance that three teams come from the division, but I'd guess two will be the amount depending on schedules.

UUUGH! AWFUL AWFUL calls last night. One missed field goal and fumble is what really costs us the game but the refs were just TERRIBLE! I was at that game, and it was a good game to watch. Ups and downs. But that fumble and missed fg cost us terribly!And yea Spoon....T.O. was SUCH a difference in the Cowboys game. You can make excuses all you want, but the simple fact is that Eli has shown no consistency or "touch" in the 2 + years he's been a pro.  He has a penchant for throwing interceptions, which are usually do to him throwing inside when the receiver breaks outside or vice versa.  He's also shown a lack of ability to hit someone deep down the sidelines.  Nine times out of ten Eli will either throw it out of bounds or too far inside where it's an easy pickoff.I know he only has a year and a half under his belt, but I get the feeling the NFL game is just way too fast for this kid.

i agree with gvac, eli makes too many mistakes, he seems like a kid who just learned how to play qb, not the son and brother of nfl qb'stoo many times he throws to the wr's back shoulder, like he doesnt know that he has to lead the reciever and just throws to him where he sees him at that point in time,and he definitely overthrows the recievers a lot and he still doesnt seem to be able to read the whole field, yeh sometimes the line doesnt hold up for him so he may not have the time

Ok I, along with Stickey and about 8 other people are going to the game tomorrow. I will be rooting on Big Blue like nobodys business but the realist in me says Bears:30Giants:14. GOD I HOPE I AM WRONG, but it will take a miracle for our non-all pro DE's to step up and make pressure. When Plaxico is not on his game it was great to have Toomer there to pick up the slack. Now all we have is fast WR's with semi-good hands. And against the bears semi-good= Major loss.We need to be stepping up on every single play. I hope we can win because this is going to be one of, it not THE, toughest game of the year.

Got back from the game at 12:30Am.God what a fucking disaster.I taqilgated for 6 1/2 hours. Pouring rain, cold and harsh winds. Had the tent and tarp up and partied with Sticky, his woman and some of his future family members. All together 10-14 people there. Plenty of food and Jaeger bombs courtesy of my woman. She is a DAMN good bartender. I was happilly bombed by the start of the game. Sobered up REAL quick. I have no voice now.I have several points which I HAVE to vent here.#1. 3 and 22 to a Td is FUCKING UN-ACCEPTIBLE. How do you let a running back break thru the lines like that. That was the key play that gave the Bears all the momentum they needed.#2. Tiki ran for 141 yards. He did his job. Eli SUCKED BALLS this game. I have never seen that many shit throws from him since his rookie season. Plaxico was wide open on several plays, and he threw over his head twice that would have given them 1st downs. I would have put Hasselbeck in by the 4th because it was obvious Eli was in-effective.#3. Obvious the run plays were working for a while but every time they went to Tiki the Bears were quick to jump. They should have had Jacobs in there WITH Tiki a few times. That would have thrown Chicago off a few times.#4. Ok...letter to the defensive coordinator. Try to memorize this word...PRESSURE. When Grossman was under it he could not throw for anything. Give him time and he will, and did, burn you.and finally.....#5. WHAT THE HOLY HELL ARE YOU DOING KICKING THE GOD DAMN BALL FOR 52 YARDS WHEN THOSE WINDS WERE IN YOUR FACE?? WE HAVE ONE OF THE BEST PUNTERS IN THE WHOLE NFL. A couple of observations from last night's game:

1. That NBC pregame show is virtually unwatchable. In the few seconds I did
watch, they were showing highlights from the Browns/Falcons game. The
game's in Atlanta, Browns draw first blood with a one yard dive into the
endzone, and I notice for the first time that NBC has added canned cheering to
the highlights, because I guarantee you that when the Browns scored, the
stadium in Atlanta didn't erupt into cheers. So goddamn lame.

2. I don't want to hear about injuries, Giants fans. You could have won the
game, but your quarterback, your coach and that pathetic little cornerback
choked it away. On the road, national TV, bad weather, a horrible first half and
the Bears still win it going away. A good, good win. That said....

3. I wish everyone would calm down about the Bears. I was glad they lost to
Miami, because all the Super Bowl, undefeated season, greatest team in pro
football shit was driving me nuts, and I don't even live in Chicago anymore. I
think that the undefeated talk wrecked the Colts' season last year, and there's a
long way to go this season. Speaking of which....

4. I'm catching a Tony Dungy vibe from Lovie Smith (and no, white people
aren't scared of black people here). It's his sideline demeanor, and the way the
team acts going back to last year's Carolina debacle. There was no fire in the
team that game, and I didn't like the way the team came out last night. That
said, you have to like how they responded, kept their cool, and pulled it back
together.

5. Last one: SCRUBS? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? Listen, Giant fans, I've
been living in Queens for 12 years now, and I know you can't really like this
team. I know you don't like Plaxico, I know you don't like Shockey (overrated
said what?). I know that you noticed what Philip Rivers did on Sunday. I know
you hate that cringe-y jump shot thing they do after they make a play
(otherwise known as doing your job). I know you're just holding your breath
until the whole team turns on ol' "if you're 5 minutes early, you're late" Tommy
C.

Giant fans, you have some worries, but the arrow still points up. Neutral field,
complete rosters, the Bears still beat the Giants 8 out of 10, but it's those other
2 that will keep me nervous when the playoffs start.

Speaking of which....I agree.  The team was getting WAY too cocky and focused more on the undefeated goal than just trying to focus on getting to the Super Bowl anyway they could.  They dismissed "lesser" teams and they paid the price for it.  I want them fighting to win like they did against the Giants and not thinking they can just coast.  Once the season ends it just takes one loss to boot your prideful ass out.

And before you say anything about the D being overrated and all your other blah blah shit, This D was humiliating people before they got hurt. The 3rd qtr of the Dallas game was the last time they were full healthy. They had 18 sacks in 3 games, including the destruction of Michael Vick, 7 sacks 10 knockdowns, and were holding teams to under 10ppg. If that is not dominating, you tell me what is.

Hey come on CJ, going by the way Kevin talks up this team one would believe all others are inferior.  Hell, he's bad mouthing a one loss team that just went on the road and won against another probable playoff team with plenty of injuries of their own.  Bottom line is that the D definitely isn't the problem with the Giants of late, but the awful passing game.  And why the hell are they using my boy Jacobs so sparingly?  I tried to get some info on it from him last week when we were having a few beers but he was pretty respectful of Coughlin and I have to respect that myself.  He definitely hinted he'd love to see the ball more but has no problem working under Tiki.  They seem to have a great relationship and he says Tiki's a hell of a good guy.  I've never met the guy but I'd have to agree from what I've seen/heard.  As we speak Gibril is blastin his base at 5 am before practice I assume.  I guess they're not off to Jax until later being the game is Monday night.  Good thing I never sleep.

As much as I love my G-Men I'm not a homer, I just had such high hopes for this year it's making me crazy to see it slowly collapsing. It's obviously not over, but it's going to be a hell of a lot harder.And I agree, our passing game just sucks right now, not scoring points is what's losing us games. We got away with it against Houston and Tampa Bay, but not against upper tier teams.

Being happy about the important loss is a little strong, but I do see your points.  Basically the coach and team leaders become even more important as the season goes on and the injuries mount.  Right now TC and Manning are showing bad trends that really started in the playoffs last year.

I am at the point right now where i am happy if we do not get another player hurt. We just need to get healthy. And Eli has to stop throwing off his fucking back foot. Btw, watching the replay on that big play that was reversed, Burras has to catch that ball, Eli hit him in stride, it should of been a TD. Total different game then. He 1st slowed up, then tried to make a one handed catched. He should caught that ball never breaking stride all the way to 6.

The most important thing for this franchise is the development of Eli Manning. Ernie Accorsi would say that himself. He hasn't developed. 3 years now. In a league that's not as tough as it used to be when Simms was playing. Either fire Coughlin, or get rid of his offensive coaches. Which he probably wont tolerate, so you you fire him either way.

Aikman was on PTI like Monday or Tuesday. And he said the biggest problem with Eli that he has seen is terrible coaching. He said he has the tools that it takes to be an elite QB. But he needs a coach that will teach him mechanics. Also he said that the coaches play schemes are so bad that Eli is never allowed to get into the groove that a QB be needs to get into. Its always chaos
