I'm on the verge of buying a used X-Box 360 and was wondering what are the games I should pick up?

I'm not into Maddens or shit like that, but would like games I can play online with RF.Netters (I know XBox Live Silver is free, dunno if I'll upgrade to Gold).

I also have never owned a regular X-Box, so I'll have to pick up the Halo 1 (played on PC, but would snag for multiplayer) and 2, Ninja Gaiden, maybe some others.

Battle for Middle Earth seems pretty cool. There's this other game with snow in the title. It's a shooting game and it's pretty good with great graphics.

I'm not much of a gamer, but in addition to Halo, the Max Payne series is one of the few I played all the way through on the original Xbox. Be sure to check the compatibility list though. Not all of the original Xbox games work on the 360.
I played Max Payne 1 and 2 on the PC, and since there's no multiplayer, no need for me to buy those.

I really should get Halo2, but I've never been a big fan of FPG's.

Halo 2 is the only game I play on the 360. All my games come out in the fall.
tenbats did u play no mercy? i remember i was in highschool when it came out. i went without lunch for a month to buy that game and when i finally put it in it was completely worth it. the first ladder matches in a video game ever, iron man match, tables, everything we take for granted now is because of no mercy. and wihtout a doubt why i think its the best wrestling game ever, i have my 64 still hooked with only two games left for it. mario kart and no mercy

Geometry Wars on XBLA is all you'll ever need. Costs $5 or something like that I think.

But beyond that, you say you don't like sports games, but what kind of games do you like to better help with suggestions?

JustJon

Most genres. Shooting, fighting, action, etc. Just not big on sports games, and limited driving games.

Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfare.

It's shooting, it has online play, it has co-op play, and it's not your typical FPS where you run around shooting everything in site.

Seems to be everything you want.

The used 360 fell thru, but between the recent birthday and Lego convention, I think I'm going to buy a new one tonight...

I think the games I may get are Call of Duty 2, Dead Rising, and possibly Halo 2 (Hey, I never had an XBox).
