I'm not as concerned with the actual stroy so much as I'm trying to figure out how you can have a 1.00 ERA, in 9 innings, yet have 2 losses.

1.00 means he gave up one run in his appearances.

Wait as I'm writing this I figured it out.

Obvioulsy he gave up a few uneaned runs.

Jackass.

Well here's the store anyway :

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2545634

Anyone remember back in the early '90's when that Yankee pitcher threw a no-hitter and lost? Andy Hawkins maybe? A couple of Yankees errors led to some unearned runs. They sure stunk back then. And now the fans have multiplied.

It was Hawkins who I HATE. Leyritz was playing in the OF and made a BIG error. They put in a reliever in the last inning hence it does not count as a true no hitter. And yes they lost.

wasnt this guy in SI a few years ago?

is it the same guy?

He has so much against him right now. He's doing what he can, but it's overwhelming him."
Allison signed with the Marlins for $1.85 million in July 2003.

Now that's fucking funny!! Fuck this twat! He's been handled like a fucking baby since he was 16 as I've read shit on him before. Sometimes you root for the drugs to win.

Leyritz is responsible for the one of the most important home runs in Yankees World Series history - yet you're making a big deal over THAT.

The point that you're missing is that Mike Blowers made the initial error that continued the inning for Leyritz to make his error. Blowers makes the play, 8th inning over.

And BTW... mind telling me what Yankee reliever they put in the "last inning"?

Here's a hint. They DIDN'T. Since the White Sox were up 4-0, THERE WAS NO BOTTOM OF THE NINTH.

Hawkins pitched 8 frames - even though he pitched a full game, it does NOT count as a true no-hitter, because he did not pitch a nine-inning game.
