...Sunday afternoon i went to the Apple store at a nearby mall to pick up my brother's laptop. While he was waiting at the service desk i started tinkering with a Mac. It was weird at first, mildly annoying(mainly because i didn't know my ass from my elbow with the thing) but now i'm sort've getting the hang of it.

Yesterday i turned it on and somehow my ipod was reformatted and i lost all of my music. I think that was the only thing to drive me to the point of wanting to bring it back but in hindsight it was just anger.

I have 90 days, if im not completely fond of this thing by next week then it's going back but as it is my brother and society at large have corrupted me into their technological revolution yet again!

*shakes fist*

Yeah, i know it does that. My brother has been trying to show me tricks and whatever but so far i've barely retained two or three things. If the right click isn't felt then i assume it doesn't exist.
Gvac

Yeah, replace the mouse immediately. The one knock I have against Apple is their lousy "Mighty Mouse." Soon the tiny scroll ball will stop working. Otherwise it'll be a pleasurable experience all around switching from Gates to Jobs.

The iPod formatted because you did not set iTunes to NOT automatically update. You should be able to retrive your music from your computer. Then be sure to uncheck auto update.

As for the mouse, learn the beauty of keystrokes! (plus apple now has a 2 button mouse)

iPhoto is pretty fucking sweet. Safari is so-so. Find another browser.

When it comes down to it, once you are comfortable, there is not a huge difference. I can go seemlessly from 1 OS to another. I think JJ also is using 2 OS's.

And as far as "Never" crashing? I've had issues. But nary a virus in 6 years. Most hackers are stictly PC and don't have time to bother with the hundred or so of us who use a mac.

What did you do to your ibook?
I've had this one for over two years now and it has never once crashed on
me.

I had my powerbook before that for about 3 years, and that never crashed
on me, either (well, until I dropped it and broke it....)
