I really really hate when anyone in wrestling refers to it as "This business." I mean, to me, it shouldn't be treated as a business. Treat it like a sport. Especially now with more and more wrestlers in ring personalities not being the characters of old (sans WWE wrestlers). And every wrestling fan has gone beyond the fact that it's fake. We've gotten over it and have accepted it but we still understand that these guys are busting their butt in there and on occassion get seriously injured but continue to compete on year round anyways. These are athletic competitors. They are wrestlers. Their not "sports entertainers." It shouldn't be about how many t-shirts you can sell. It should be about how great a match you can put in the ring to satisfy the fans.

Alright, well that's my rant. I just really fucking hate Vince McMahon is really all I'm saying.

Didnt I just hear you say this same thing some were else. If you hate it as much as you are saying, then stop watching its that simple. That way you dont have to waste time and energy complaining about it.

t-shirt sales and PPV sales are what it is all about now. its a corporate mentality. just like applebees being the place to go after a night or bar hoping as opposed to the local diner. ECW was the last of the mom & pop operations. it is all big busines, no matter how hard double J tries to keep TNA non corporate, it is.

P.S. complain all you want, thats what were here for.

Sorry guys. It was just one of those moments where I wish it was better but I know it's not going to turn out that way anyways. I watch TNA because it's actually entertaining wrestling. I don't watch WWE on TV anymore, but occassionally I do see highlights on their website. And I've been following ECW as you know for CM Punk only.

I figured this was a way to spark up a discussion on why televised wrestling is the way it is now and why no one has figured out that there is a large percentage of the crowd that doesn't want to see that anymore and decides to put on their own product that is everything the fans want, none of what the fans see all the time?

I've always hated Jeff Jarrett, Sting, and Scott Steiner, so I'd rather eat rat poison than watch TNA.

That having been said, I'm not really a representative wrestling fan. I watch only for the ridiculousness of the entertainment, and just how over the top everything is. I could give two shits about the actual wrestling. Why? Because it's fake. I know it's physically demanding and everything, and I respect that, but the fact that the result is predetermined is enough to not really get me to watch or care about the "action." A lot of times, I'll come to the tv for the ring entrance and promos, leave for a match, and then come back to find out who won, and with what finishing move if applicable. London and Kendrick are the exception for me. I'll watch all their matches because they are fun to watch and put on a hell of a show.

Actually, wrestling has always been referred to as "The business" by those in it. Just like wrestling fans are referred to as "marks." It's all about the illusion of kayfabe. The problem is that the fans got "smart" and learned the intricacies behind the curtain over the last 10 years.
