Yeah...Mickelson always has had the "chokey" reputation, but you
never see someone like Els get the same shit.  He has 6 second
place finishes, and has been in the running dozens of times without
getting the win.  Everyone will get over it, Mickelson's gonna post 10 majors before his career is over.

Also, I don't think Els gets the same treatment as Mickelson is because Mickelson is considered to be a more talented player.  Based upon that talent, people expected him to win a major years before he was able to pull it off.

thats why i like els more. He isn't as good, but he also didnt spend all but a year and a half playin stupid like phil. Phil played golf like me for awhile. What, 20 yards outta reach, i'll just swing harder. No, man, I can definately hit that cut around 12 trees or better yet, go through them. While it makes it fun to watch, I respect the guys more who control themselves and play smart. I'm workin on tryin to do the same thing myself

I was thinking further on how many majors Phil will win, and I took a look at how many majors Arnold Palmer won.   He won seven.  I really don't see Phil winning three more than what Arnie was able to win, and one less than what Walter Hagen was able to win.

While we are on that. At 30, and seemingly motivated and excited like back in the day, You think Tiger can get to 18 and catch Jack. He has plenty of golf prime and already has like 10 i think, might be 11. If he wins this one I think he is gonna go on a mini tear, maybe not so much like 2000 tiger but better then anyone else

The one thing I've seen bad about Els is he tends to make mistakes when playing with great players. he may buckle playin with Tiger, especially if Tiger comes out hot

most majors. If he won 10 from 20-30, no reason he can't win 9 from 30-40/on.I
agree with some of what you guys are saying, but even WITH Winged Foot
Mickelson doesn't choke like he used to.  At least this time it
was only one hole, he used to choke for an entire round...really
painful to watch.Plus, lets not forget the biggest waste of
talent ever.  2nd All-Time to only Tiger on the World Golf Ranking

This may be too much given how difficult golf is, but I don't think the competition for Tiger will stop him.  There hasn't been one major where Tiger's game was on all four days, and he still lost to someone like Phil, Ernie, or Vijay.  He loses when his game isn't going well.  I don't think you can say the same about the other 4.  Phil could play the best round of his life, and if Tiger plays the best round of his life, Tiger wins.

i think tiger is winning this weekend. I watch golf probably too much, and I haven't seen him look this happy playin golf in a long time. Maybe we should just get his chick to bitch at him all the time. Then all he will wanna do is play golf, and he will pass jack by 2010

In terms of legends, maybe Tiger is the only one now. but because of tiger, the whole field of the PGA overall is alot better then it was years ago, and thats why its harder to win so much now

I've been working in the office today, so I wasn't able to watch the Open, but it looks like it was pretty good.  Sergio Garcia went -6 today to finish one behind Woods along with Els and DiMarco.

So I went out to this place last night to have a couple beers, left there around 2:30 and went over to Clifton and played some cards til like 6:15. Then I came how. Its now 7am, and as I was gettin ready to sleep, I remember the British is on this time live. Is it really sad that I'm actually gonna try now to stay up until 1:30 to watch this all

they said the heatwave had destroyed the fairway, so i'm assuming they were green once. plus i've never seen a course like that during the british open.

I gotta agree with Furie.  It looks like they're playing a public course in Central Jersey in August. Hell, not even Golf Courses in ARIZONA look this bad. BTW... Jesper Parnevik has worn some interesting outfits over the years.  I think Garcia has blown him away by a wide, wide margin.
