The internet has failed me thus far, but here's hoping RF.net won't. And this will show what a huge dork I really am.

Anyway, I'm looking for the name of a really old (late 80's) rpg that I played. You could pick as your character a character from Greek myth, and you fought a whole bunch of men and beasts, including in the Trojan war. It was really lo-fi but great. Anybody know the name?

My first guess is Ultima, but that is too easy to find info about so I doubt that is what you are looking for,

Try this link to Wikipedia. It's listings of games by year,I selected 1988 as a starting point. Maybe seeing the title will jolt you.

Def. not Ultima, but I'm not sure what it is. Could be 'Mazes & Minotaurs' a quasi ripoff of D&D.
I was a big King's Quest aficionado.

After going through wikipedia, I've come to the conclusion that the game must have been earlier, even though those years are when I remember playing it. But I still can't find it.

One game I do remember playing on Atari was Swordquest. Which was balls-hard and came out as part of some promotion Atari did. It had a Comic Book component.

Late 90's bur warlords was a cool comp game that was pretty much lo-fi strategy. I believe they still make new versions from time to time. Not sure if it goes back all the way to the Atari version though?

I'm sorry, but any RPG I play better be hi-fi with Dolby Pro Logic. And I prefer analog, it has a warmer sound.
Warlords is great. I spent many a night just whiling away on that and listening to music.
