I'm trying to find a movie that I saw at a drive-in when I was a kid, and all I remember is that the film was in black and white, and some old guy in a wheelchair was trying to kill himself by rolling into a sword on a desk.

Anyone? Thanks.

Sorry I can't help you Blowhard. I'm only familiar with the new fangled talkies.

And I had absolutely no idea they had horse and buggy drive-ins. Guess you learn something new every day.

Funk: saw them and loved them all. Bobo: I also remember a clock striking 12 and the wheelchair guy being afraid of something coming after him. I also recall a loud heartbeat sound. Gvac: for a guy who hates movies, you just plain suck. Fly: I'm happy it wasn't Larry Flynt. We need smut peddlers, especially these days.

Another clue: it may have been one of those gimmicky films when they give you a vomit bag when you walk in.

Well, there's Homicidal by William Castle which is about a transvestite murderer, who, at one point, decapitates a mute woman who's in a wheel chair. It doesn't match your description, but it's a very infamous scene (by 1961 standards). This film had the gimmick of the "coward's corner," if a viewer became too frightened, they could follow a yellow line running up the aisles of the theater to the "coward's corner" where they could hide in shame!!!

I remember seeing it at a drive-in. mid-60's. I also remember after the guy in the wheelchair killed himself, his guts started to slowly drop out. To this day I've been freaked by this film and even with a memory like a lockbox, I'm stumped. And Sheepy, the worst thing you could do on acid was watch a horror flick. I saw "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" while tripping and it was the worst head ever.

Blowhard, I have been looking for about 2 hours and can't find what you are looking for (I hate my OCD). However, I did find this site that does the same thing you are doing here - users give some details about the movie they are looking for and others provide an answer if possible.

Good luck Budday! I'm going back to work now.

This thread reminded me of something that I've been trying to find out for years. It's an old Night Gallery episode called 'Shadows on the Wall'. It's about a brother and two older sisters that kill their oldest sister to take control of the family fortune. After she is murderded, her shadow appears on the wall and soon enough, the surviving siblings turn on each other. As one dies, their shadow appears in the same manner. I fell asleep watching it when I was a kid and never was able to find out how it ends. Any help would be appreciated.
In the meantime, around what year did this wheelchair/sword movie come out?

I think I remember that Night Gallery segment, but the problem is that there were a bunch of "people getting killed by greedy or cruel relatives" storylines, from the guy who killed his wife, who was later haunted by her on his tv set, and the guy who killed his mom and buried her in the yard, where she "grows" into a plant person. And of course, the great episode with Roddy McDowell and Ossie Davis, when the rich uncle is killed and the painting on the wall shows the body coming out of the grave. GREAT SHOW!
As for the movie I'm looking for, it was probably made in the mid-60's, and it was black and white, with a green tint.

I remember "Mark Of The Devil", and I remember the big scene was the chick getting her tongue pulled out. I recently got a VHS copy of "Bloody Pit of Horror", another classic of that genre.

Thanks, man. That one scene of the old man rolling his wheelchair into a sword and watching his guts fall out has haunted me since I was a kid. I also seem to recall that he was looking up at a clock, which was striking midnight and he was scared shitless.

The movie that gave out the vomit bag was called MARK OF THE DEVIL. .
There were a number of them that did that.
I remember one from around '69 0r '70 where they said in the radio ad if you got too scared to keep repeating to yourself,
"It's only a movie."
And they had these people droning lke a gregorian chant saying over and over like a buch of robot-zombies,
"It's only a movie"
"It's only a movie"
"It's only a movie"
Good luck, Blowhard. If you weren't sure it was something you saw at the drive-in, I woulda guessed an episode of the Outer Limits or the Twilight Zone.
