If she drove for Formula One it would be a huge step down, but alas she doesnt, She drives for the IRL, Indy Racing league. Formula One includes the likes of Michael Schumacher and the Andrettis.

F1 cars are alot better, and made top of the line basically. You cant get any better. Also IRL will not race in the rain at all, F1 races in the rain and its just amazing. F1 uses gas, while I believe IRL uses Methanol. Also F1 cars are much faster, their lap times wont be as fast as IRL, because IRL just goes around an oval, F1 is all street courses. Also F1 cars can go in reverse while IRL cannot.

And yes F1 is international (but known world wide) while IRL is just US (and not known as heavily in the international countries.)

I think the biggest step down from F1 to anything else would be the salary. An average driver makes 8 or 10 million a year, Michael Schumaker earns 40 million, just to drive, it isn't dependant on wins or anything.

I am sure there will be people who complain about her being there, but majority of the nascar community will not, it is not the same Southern Boys crap it was 20 years ago, hence why NJ wants to build a Nascar Stadium in the Meadowlands.
Tenbats just an FYI...Indy is not F1...F1 is completely different car and those guys make alot more then nascar racers and their cars are alot more safer in most aspects, they can actually race in the rain unlike Nascar. Mostly due to the tires used. Schumaker makes $80 million annually since 2004 (on any F1 site). Nascar drivers wish they made that much. Schumaker makes $8 million to wear a little quarter inch logo of some company on his hat or something, its ridiculous the money that is poured into F1. I do agree IRL has no recognition but Nascar does not even come close to F1.

Also thank you for calling out Moe I did as well, but felt I was not able to contribute as much as I wanted to, so thank you.

Can we state, once again, that Formula One and IRL are two vastly different forms of racing. The article mentioned F1 because it was just announced yesterday that Juan Pablo Montoya (former Indy 500 winner, multiple F1 race winner, Driver on the second or third best f1 team) is losing his seat at McLaren Mercedes and jumping to Nascar next year.
Edit: Phishead beat me to it.

I missed Alkey calling Moe out, but hell, he's not alone. I've been anti-Moe bullshit fan since day #1 motherfuckers!!! And his responses to any kind of push back are either: 1) Gay/fake I don't care what you say type responses. 2) You guys must be proud of eachother for teaming up on me bullshit (can also be classified in category 1 due to gay factor. 3) Why do the Mods let this shit go on even though 90% of the bust on him are funny and or legit.

Anyhow (Fez style)!

Truthfully Danica is a pretty good driver and she came up through all those crazy race circuits so she has garnered a lot of respect from the other drivers. The guy who just won Indy talked about racing with her back in some dirt cart series and how good she was back then too. He spoke very highly of her on Letterman. Sorry, I'm not great with racing as I'm just getting into it more so I really might be butchering the race names and don't have the driver name knowledge just yet. And it's not like she's been put in a car as a gimmick, she's earned her spot and has been racing at the top of most of the races she's been in so far.

I thin if she makes the jump to NASCAR alot of people will bitch and moan for a while and then just get used to it and accept it like everything else. Plus people that really hate her can alway root for her to be put into a wall or something. I hope she does it just because shes easy on the eyes and it will shake things up a bit.

Ashley Force? Is that her real name? Still it's not the best racing name out there--Scott Speed still wins that one.
