Mark my words - if she does make the jump - and there's a lot of rides available - she'll either drive for DEI or she'll drive a Toyota. I thought Erin Crocker would pick up a full-time ride before Danica... and BTW, Bill Lester has driven twice in the Nextel Cup series this year.

In respones to Moes post:fans dont care if she drives in Nascar, they have actually been hoping she would join for the past year.  and to the people who think its just good ole boys, nascar has changed alot in the past 20 years.  Black drivers (not full time, but thats more based on their skill and sponsors), asian drivers, Western drivers (Busch-who was not accepted at first because him being from Vegas).  If you are a good driver and exciting they dont care who races.

F1 cars are alot better, and made top of the line basically.  You cant get any better.  Also IRL will not race in the rain at all, F1 races in the rain and its just amazing.  F1 uses gas, while I believe IRL uses Methanol.  Also F1 cars are much faster, their lap times wont be as fast as IRL, because IRL just goes around an oval, F1 is all street courses.  Also F1 cars can go in reverse while IRL cannot.   And yes F1 is international (but known world wide) while IRL is just US (and not known as heavily in the international countries.)

Just for the record, I don't give a shit about NASCAR, but I don't want to see it destroyed.  I don't care about it personally but don't want to see a choice in entertainment taken away from it's fans.  I just think it's gay when I hear shit like one woman joining the PGA or NASCAR has so many people upset.Worry about your own fucking lives a little more.  The world is a constantly changing place.  Those who can adapt live, those who can't get stuck where they are and die.

I think the biggest step down from F1 to anything else would be the salary. An average driver makes 8 or 10 million a year, Michael Schumaker earns 40 million, just to drive, it isn't dependant on wins or anything.

Isn't NASCAR afr more polular than any other racing circuit? At least in the US I mean. I mean I am a non race fan and could name at least 5-6 NASCAR drivers and not a single Formula 1 or indy driver (well except Danica Patrick)

   Cite?  Schumaker's also European, which makes a difference.  He's big in his homeland. IRL gets no respect and no ratings in the US compared to NASCAR.  For an American driver, if they are looking for recognition, NASCAR is the way to go. I'm really shocked they are pushing Danica for a Nextel car, rather than a Busch car.

Can we state, once again, that Formula One and IRL are two vastly different forms of racing. The article mentioned F1 because it was just announced yesterday that Juan Pablo Montoya (former Indy 500 winner, multiple F1 race winner, Driver on the second or third best f1 team) is losing his seat at McLaren Mercedes and jumping to Nascar next year.
