Hey Y'all!

So 95.5 WPLJ is sponsoring a contest where the
Grand Prize is the first opener slot at the Bon Jovi concert at Giants
Stadium on July 18th.

The pool has been narrowed to 5 bands and
the final "battle" will take place this coming Sunday at 2pm at the
Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ.

There is a reason I am posting
this with such feeling and excitement, though! When I am
not singing with my own band, I sing backup vox for one of the bands in
the final 5 - XENON. They are an extremely talented group
of musicians/songwriters, and some of you may remember them from back
in the hayday of WSOU and power/hair rock in the mid to late 90's.

Check them out at XenonWebsite

And
check out the WPLJ event page at BonJoviContest

AND check US out on Sunday - we are the third band so start time
is about 4pm ... this is an outside gig and it looks like it
should be an all day partay...I hope some of you can make it!

Thanks to Jon for letting me post!

I tried to click the Xenon link and the site thinks I'm trying to edit your post. I don't know if that's a problem with your link or a problem with rf.net.

I saw Xenon at Studio 1, and hung with them a little bit on Joanne Digirolomo's show! They are also on my iPod. (America's New Design)

Best of luck.

We did Not win the Jovi gig... unfortunately.... but we
did have the best "fan showing" at the Pony that day by far.

It
was an awesome experience (and definitely the Best PA I have ever sang
through!)..... it would have been Cewler if we had opened that day at
Giant's Stadium... but it was just not meant to be! Onward and
upward we go!

Thanks for caring, mr Funkman! You are the breast!

Trust me, the Have a Nice Gig thing is not all that it's cracked up to be... when I saw Bon Jovi in Philly, the place was MAYBE a quarter full for NICKELBACK, and that was pretty much the pit and that's it. I could only imagine what it was like for the Gig winner.

It's not the "50,000 screaming fans" like Jon tried to paint it out to be.
