LIVE show will be attempted tonight at 9:00.  Listen via the blinky "On Air" thing that Bobo pasted in above.  I think there will actually be 2 "On Air" blinkies - one for those using Windows Media Player and one for Winamp, Real Player, etc. Not quite sure about chat or call in...I have video set up so it might be via Paltalk...I'll be looking at other chat things to see if they support chat with video...(skype doesn't seem to) Still in full catastrophe mode.Stream is down.  Pants too.

I sat and watched old Number 6 from the RnF Chatroom never realizing I needed to go to Radioghost.com to get the audio. My .mp3 player has a microphone and is really easy to accidentally activate.  It stores these phantom snippets of my life in a folder, and every once in a while, I'll check these files, spying on myself and those around me.  They usually garner a crumpled up five dollar bill, but occasionally, a good one comes along and I'll take the five dollar bill and neaten it, flatten it, coax it back to life.

Perhaps if I got some sleep I wouldn't constantly be eating my hat. Stalwarts of course makes more sense and actaully has a better feeling to it. I mean, any word that can slip in "warts" is okay by me.The site archive.org gives free accounts and seems to be a good place for this type of operation. I'll create a presence up there and see how it goes. If it all looks good and I get some files up I will, of course, notify the community.

Think of the secrets we're missing.i like what your getting at... bring the stalwarts to life. i immediately identified with his stalwart idea cause ive always been interested in observing people and recording random behaviour. i do it for a living now as a cameraman...plus i have reams of tapes of my own life- places ive lived, people ive met..all completely inconsiquential to anyone else. i just like doing it. my life has become the making of a collection of videos, of my life of making videos, that i never watch.

i use two if its a small and 3 for a large.  at times i like to have two tea bags if i want it to taste strong.  i put in skim milk only.   this stalwarts thing would drive me nuts, thinking that someone watching for no reason but to record my behavior.

Wow Sleeves, I went on vacation in Iowa, illinois, nebraska, Wiscon and Michigan and i came back and found that i've missed so much. I put on my radio ears to your 30 minute shows, they are really quite funny and interesting, you are always real nice when it comes to comments. I feel like i made suggestions and then i ran away. I would like to request that all future episodes of Atoms, Motion and the Void come with a Surgeon General’s warning.  Let me explain…  I few weeks ago I stumbled across AMV from the R&F show.  It started off innocent enough with Sherwin reminiscing about Sunday drives and the beauty of abandoned barns.  A few days later, I downloaded another episode.  It continued on like that, but soon I noticed I was downloading with more frequency, I was focusing more and more on finding time to be alone to listen to my next episode.  Before I realized it I had developed a two episode per day habit…   Last night at 1AM I finally had time to download the newly posted AMV23.  While I was loading it onto my iPod, I drank an Adrenaline Rush (SoBe’s version of Red Bull) and thought … maybe I should backtrack an episode, or maybe two, just to get back into the flow of the storyline… I slammed back a second Adrenaline Rush, put on my headphones and started listening…  ….as the first few notes of Rammstein started playing, signaling the end of episode 23, I looked over at my clock… It was 5:47 and I had been listening for almost 5 hours… starting with episode 15 and ending here with AMV23… and as Sherwin’s voice announced “You’ve been listening to Atoms, Motion and the Void” I realized that I had to get up in 15 minutes to get ready for work, and I already started feeling the need for another episode!… You are a very talented and very cruel man Mr. Sleeves.  So I think the warning should say something along the lines of…“Listening to Atoms, Motion and the Void can be habit forming.  Side effects can include: constantly checking this thread for a new episode; babbling about “Stalwarts” to your wife who is convinced you’re crazy; digging out and listening to David Byrne, John Cage, Rammstein CDs (among others) that you haven’t listened to in years; babbling about “Bildebergs” to your wife who is now convinced you’ve joined a cult; unconsciously whistling “I’ve Got a Lovely Bunch of Cocoanuts”, damn you AMV19!; dry mouth, scalp crawls and finger twitches”  Ok,.. the last three could be from the Adrenaline Rush. Wow, this post was way too long… Carry on with your excellent work Mr. Sleeves… I’m going to find a quite corner and crash now……….

Hello my friends and thanks for all the nice words above...Unfortunately my wife just called - she has purchased a Nintendo Wii - and that's the end of my show, donk. :)  In a couple weeks I'm going to be "pitching" AMV to a theatrical review board for possible performance later in the year.  I think I can include about 4 episodes, maybe a little more.   Right now...I'm thinking about using AMV6 The Pennbennies, AMV10 Harvey Porter, and AMV18 Atoms, Motion, etc. I need to listen to the whole thing again to find the fourth...But i would really like some feedback.  This can be done via PM or in the thread, whatever you like. What would be critical to include?  What was the most striking thing?  Even - what would you not include?I thank you and I thank you a second time after that.

OK… at the risk of being abused for my “sensitivity” (hey I’m new, go easy on me) I first listening to episode 18 in the car, driving home at night and I almost pulled over at the end because of the way the narrative and the overall production built really hit a nerve in me… it was actually getting hard to concentrate on the driving… so 18 would definitely seem like a strong ending… OK I’m done

It just seems like AMV18 is a good way to end...  i think i group of vinettes would work well alone..but i think the bigger story of the stalwarts that begins in AMV4, that really grounds the diverse stories, should be interweaved with the more standalone pieces. total honesty...harvey porter was not a favourite of mine..i sort of passed it over..perhaps im not doing it justice, i really should re-listen to give you a full answer...actually this is a nice excuse for re-listening to the old stuff. the tenbennies is def a strong ep..one of the 1st eps where i was kindve in a trance by the story..plus its a nice visual piece..simple to do in a small theatre...is there going to be some sort of 'narrator'? AMV18 for me, is the pinnacle of this work so far, so powerful and touching. it has to be part of any theatrical thing..but i cant imagine how a director would make that happen on stage... (perhaps it should be an audio-visual thing (wink wink..nudge nudge!)btw good luck on the pitch..any way us 'voidistists' can help..like writing letters or whatnot..let us know.

It really depends on where you're going to go with it in the long run... but I'm a bit partial to "The Mourners Companion", "The Antioch Fire" and "Harvey Porter". "The Exponent of Westbrook" and "The Pennbennies" would work nicely as well.I'm here to help as much as I can. BTW, You're killing me with where you ended 23... I think I'm gonna need the next episode by the end of the day tomorrow, or I just might crack.

Sleeves has produced a unique piece of work here.  I’ve shared it with a dozen or so friends and everyone seems to become hooked for a different reason: the old time radio guy, the science fiction guy, the guy who likes eclectic music (me… what were those music credits from episodes 1-5…) the Spalding Gray fan, the Orson Welles fan (also the old time radio guy), my childhood friend, who at the age of 42 still hasn’t lost his taste for psychedelics, and others… and now my wife, who’s curiosity over my newly formed habit of sitting in bed, late at night with my iPod has finally gotten the best of her.If you’ve stumbled across this thread by accident, or haven’t actually listened to Atoms, Motion & the Void do yourself a favor and listen to the first few episodes. I believe you will get hooked… then send Sherwin an email and ask him for a swift delivery of the next cycle!

I may be a little late to the party and what I have to say may not be on topic with what is being discussed at the moment, but I have got to say, the AMV series has me completely hooked and I am looking forward to catching up on all of the episodes that I have missed.  Great job Sleeves.

I'm liking the new site. Fitting of such great work. The entire series of episodes were wonderful. It's rare to find anyone who can capture and keep my attention but Sleeves has exceeded that. As agonizing as it was to wait for new installments I was never disappointed. It's quite addictive.

That's weird...I actually started up again last week...almost done writing the next one.

I don't think it'll be done this weekend, but hopefully by next.

Also, the next AMVs will just be standalones, rather than a continuation of the first series.

really, I went the exact opposite way, if you remember, right before everything went down with the bird and Mr. Graves, etc, the conversation about the Morphine Ghost we heard about severe reactions to it where all sense of reality is lost, it would be really easy and would make a lot of sense to create a new story arch from that point as the "reality" of the series, taking the last ending as a daydream.

I am catching up also. I'm on #12 (Streamlines of the futurist) now. I was mesmerized by 7 & 8 (the episodes involving Winchester). I was listening to episode 7 on the train ride home and almost missed my stop as I was so engrossed in the story I completely lost track of where we were. I really loved episode 9 also. These productions are amazing! I hope we hear Sherwin soon on the public airwaves.

I finally got around to listening to the first two or three AMV shows, and all I have to say is:

Fucking Incredible!

Having heard the songs Sleeves has done for R&F, I wasn't sure what to expect from his show, but I was pleasently surprised. The writing was exceptional, the character is well-conceived, and I even enjoyed the musical selection. All in all, I found it an enjoyable way to waste an hour-and-a-half of my Saturday afternoon. You have my vote, Sleeves.

Yesterday, with XM dead in the water, I got caught up fully with AMV, listening to all three shows in the second series.

I'm kind of liking the sort of stand-alone feeling of this season. If a big plot like the whole story of the Stalwarts and the Bildeburgers rises out of that, that would be cool (no way I saw the way the first series ended coming, and I'm trying to puzzle out how we got here from there), but I find these stand alone stories have a real emotional heft and resonance to them. Good work as always, Mr. Sleeves.

That is correct. I was waiting for Sleeves to make an official announcement, but the "Mighty Horse" CD just went on sale. It includes 11 songs that Sleeves created for the Ron & Fez Show, including:

I've started doing some stories for the local NPR station ...and for some reason I can't email them and instead post them on my site and then they download...there are 3 pieces so far...

one called "The Plows" (http://www.atomsmotion.com/uploads/the plows.mp3), one on Thanksgiving (http://www.atomsmotion.com/uploads/thanksgiving.mp3), and one that will be used to promo a "new" daily show (http://www.atomsmotion.com/uploads/thenew.mp3) that takes as it's subject "the new". Anything new.

I must say that Hottub also figured out how to win a contest.

I thought it was unbelievably clever - but one of my contests was to just wait and see if anyone demanded a copy of anything. Which Hottub did.

He just plain ordered me to send him something. What a sack of potatoes on this kid.
