Why does this surprise you? It's cheap as hell to make, so unless marketing costs are out of hand, it's virtually guaranteed to make it's money back and turn a profit. As for the Jackass guys, they've beem modestly successful (Viva La Bam, Wild Boys, Knoxville in Dukes of Hazard), but let's not even pretend that they've been setting the world on fire since the last movie and the show ended, so provided that they were willing to destroy their bodies again, this was probably a no-brainer.

Jackass: The Movie was great. I'm surprised Knoxville is still willing to do these things.
As you said, they were all doing their own thing, so this suprised me that they would put their bodies on the line again.

I do look forward to it though. The first movie was classic. When Bam set off the fireworks in the house and his dad's car, I thought I was going to puke I was laughing so hard.

they stopped doing the show cause MTV canned it. It was causing too much heat, thats the only reason
Sometimes it's the money (look at every fucking Who reunion tour since the early 80s) sometimes careers don't go the way people hope (see Kevin Smith & "Jersey Girl"), so announcements that anything is over in the entertainment business should be taken with a grain of salt.

Jersey Girl really did bite the big one. No wonder why he made Clerks II. Very true.

DirtyJersey wrote:
Golf airhorn is great but I could easily watch 2 hours of party boy also.

ewwww...............

If they can make money they will do it.

I am excited about Jackass 2. I love Wild Boyz, it never gets old. I am sick of Bam though, you can only take so much of him.

I never bothered to see jackass #1...even then, there seemed to be more than enough dumb human tricks around.

But i found the relatively simple golf-airhorn bit inspired. (and i'm not a golf fanatic)...note the mentions on this thread and how widely that one was circulated -inc among non-fans like myself

Also, the recent promo pic with blindfolded, smilin' Knoxville and charging bull is quite cool.

I loved watching the first one. Now that I have seen the trailer where Knoxville gets leveled by a bull, I am thinking I will like this one even more. I will be first in line at the Korean bootleggers table!

Saw this last night in a packed theatre in Manhattan. This movie was awesome. It did not lose my attention the whole movie, and everyone was dying laughing the whole time. Even better than Jackass 1.

I was never a big fan of any of that stuff.

I sis catch Knoxville's interview on Sterm which was a day after Stern interviewed Steve O and that jerk-off Bam Margera.

Stern was asking if they were all still tight and Knoxville was very uneasily saying yeah of course we are.

I think that Margera and Steve needed Knoxville to be in the movie or else the studio wouldnt make it.
