The giants losing to the niners that year, it would be the flipper anderson game in the 80's but i wasnt really old enough to fully remember that. Devils was losing to the rangers in the 04 ECF, knicks the last 3 seasons, and the Sox my biggest one as a fan was the aaron boone home run
I have about six of them. But I can isolate 3:

1. Scott Norwood. 'nuff said.
2. Brett Hull's foot in the crease during Game 6 of the Stanley Cup.
3. I would have to say John LeClair scoring through a hole in the side of the net in 2000.

No, Hull's was in the Cup finals in 99. And his foot was just in the crease. LeClair was a year later and it was in the first or second round. But definitely not through the front of the net. Then, as he was leaving the ice, Ruff gets a full beer to the side of the head from some asshole Philly fan.

Then walking out and listening to all the filthy disgusting Yankee fans
walk around the Stadium like they owned it. Cuz that night they

The D'Backs in the World Series was pretty bad. Especially after Brosius' and Tino's heroics in the previous games.

'86 (I think) FA Cup Final. Liverpool lost to United, it snapped a streak in which Liverpool hadn't lost some ridiculous number of games in which Ian Rush had scored. I remember being crushed.

Edit: Not United, Arsenal and it was the League Cup final in '87. Charlie Nicholas scored 2.

Jets - Broncos ' 98 AFC championship game.

For me, nothing compares to game seven of the 2000 NBA Western Conference. Portland had a 15-point lead over the Lakers heading into the fourth quarter. However, Shaq started doing Rick Barry impressions from the free-throw line and uber-schmuck Rasheed Wallace performed a choke-job of John Starksian proportions.

Between the million times my beloved Washington Capitals have broken my heart and various Terrapin teams have broken my heart, this is a real doozy...

But i'd probably have to go with the 1987 playoffs and the Pat LaFontaine goal...still hurts to this day, and if I ever see Bob Mason, I will have to be restrained from choking him out after he gave up that WEAK ASS GOAL to Trottier late in the 3rd period...

The thing with the long field goals wasnt even the worst part

sorry snoogs brien missed the fg by being short a yard and ahalf maybe? they pickup five yards and he shanks the damn kick. thats all on the kicker. he was short a few yards they pick up those yards he just had to kick the ball just like he did the first time. he didnt he shanked it, that loss was not herm edwards fault, doug brien desrves to be killed by a pack of wild boars and i want to see it broadcast on national tv. ofcourse in the long run we ended up trading our first rounder for doug 'fryingpans' jolley and a second round pick which was spent on mike nugent. on second thought can i say the entire year of 05 as a jet fan

Dec 16, 1979

In a three way tie for the NFC East the final week of the season, the Redskins playing at Dallas are up 34-21 late in the 4th quarter. With only one wild card berth back then the Skins must win to gain a playoff spot. Roger Staubach marches his team to paydirt not once, but twice in the Last 4 minutes. Cowboys win 35-34. Cowboys win the NFC East at 11-5 the Redskins 10-6 go home out of the playoffs entirely, due to tiebreaking rules. (St. Louis layed down for the Bears and lost by 36, so the Bears got the Wild Card) So in 4 mins we go from being NFC East Champs to going home for Christmas. To add insult to injury Harvey Martin tossed a funeral wreath into the Redskins locker room after the game. Fuckin Cowboys and thier shiny little stars, make me wanna puke.

Well as typical to my form, it seems....the 2000 Olympic Swimming Men's 200 Free relay where Gary Hall Jr. claimed that the American team would smash the world record and the Aussies "Like Guitars" and they LOST!!!!! The image of the Aussies playing Air Guitar is a huge image from Sports Illustrated and Olympic footage

1. gave up two touchdown runs to quarterbacks.
Steve Young - over 50 yards / Vinnie Testaverde - over 40 yards Vinnie
'fucking pocjket passer" Testaverde. When has any team in the NFL given
up such TD runs for that distance to a quarterback?

the numbers could be off a bit, but i believe its Elvis Grbac who holds the record for longest run by a QB. I cant remember who they were playing, but they ran a flood right naked bootleg left and it fooled the D so bad that elvis scored from what i believe was 78 yards, untouched, and it took like 15 seconds

And, as a Sox fan, I dont see buckner being a huge crushing defeat. As I always said, they had already blown the lead, no one was getting any outs. So buckner makes that play, inning over, we go to extras. Whose to say the relievers dont give up 9 more runs.
I meant it as Game 6 itself. Watching that disaster unfold was like being repeatedly kicked full force in the balls by an iron boot. One strike away. Jesus, it STILL hurts.

Oh you dont have to tell me. I wasnt really old enough to remember the game, ive only seen it later on tape, but i was old enough, being up in NH at the time, to see for the weeks after that game just how depressed everyone was. It was almost as if everyones dad died on the same day
And it was the same as Game 7 of the 2003 ALCS. It wasn't Boone's home run -- it was watching Grady leave in Pedro in the 7th when everyone else in the world knew he reached his limit. It was at that point I said "Game over" and turned it off. I knew they were going to blow that lead. I never even saw the Boone homer off of Wakefield (who was going to be the series MVP).
