I don't know if it's that some people here are just being too judgemental or expecting too much. I don't know what it is. I've loved the show and feel that it's getting better with each week. I swear more than half of my office now talks about this show every week. Pretty much every married person has said that they really identify with the show, the situations etc. I'm just saying that I think this show is resonating with far more people than most here think.   I just saw the episode where Louie has to go on a diet because his friend (John?) had a heart attack?  Is that the same episode you guys are seeing or...is Canada a year behind the curve once again?  That show was very funny, the whole eating the donuts in the shop because he is expected back after a certain time is absolutely true in some marriages. The show from last night with Louie calling her a cunt is absolutely not something that as far as I've seen been done in a sitcom before. When on NBC, CBS, or whatever channel has the husband called his wife a cunt and having to deal with the after effects of calling her that?

Next week's episode is probably going the be the worst yet. A whole show dedicated to that annoying kid. I'm not a big fan of the show, but I do admit there are some funny parts. Everytime that kid is on though it is almost unbearable to watch.

Is it just me or should someone throw that little girl in the dumpster? I hate that kid on the show, she is so annoying. And before you tell me shes just acting, I dont care everything about her annoyes me. Her voice, her haircut, her attitude ewww I just wish she was off the show and never seen on TV again. Well thats just me!

Sorry to disagree, but I thought that was the best episode yet. 4-year-olds can often test you like that, but in the end they want your acceptance. The end bit with Jimmy was fantastic!By the way, She's alot better than that superstar hack Dakota Fanning... Ugh!

The episode itself was pretty good, especially the beginning, but that kid is beyond annoying. It's a good thing I'm not a parent because if a kid of mine ever acted up like that and spoke to me the way she did, I'd smack them.

yup.. it was shaky at first, but i think the writers and actors got the characters figured out after a few episodes. (although jimmy said it wasn't shot in order... strange)i liked when walter explained why his wife lied about never needing to discipline their kid.

I suppose I must eat crow. I realize I came off as something of a one-man Statler and Waldorf as I criticized and yet continued to watch Lucky Louie every week. I have to say I liked the "cunt" episode quite a bit and thought last night's episode was fairly strong as well. I'm now on-board and hope the show continues to improve and am curious to see what they can do in a second-season - which is usually when promising shows ecome great.

Jimmy said they are not showing the episodes in the order they were filmed. Last week's was the first one taped after the pilot.Though I'm not married, I am around alot of kids (family, friends, etc), the last two episodes were probably the most relatable of any sitcoms ever:I let the c-word fly at my girlfriend during an argument after she dared me to do it. We worked it out, and we kind of joked about it. A few weeks later, she was in the same mood like that day of the first argument, so I jokingly asked if it was "open cunting season". Oops.

I'm not a fan, but I've only seen the pilot episode.That said... in case it hasn't been mentioned before, I just noticed that there will be 4 episodes in row tonight (Thursday), starting at 8:30PM EST. Just thought I'd give a "heads up" for anyone who'd like to check it out.The episode titles are "Control", "Flowers for Kim", "Discipline", and "Get Out".

Jaclyn's response was certainly snotty, but she has a good point. I wouldn't think Norton would care. I thought that was part of being in comedy - not everyone's going to like your stuff. 
And I don't get where he's coming from with "If you don't like A, you must like B which I find reprehensible." What if someone doesn't like either? I know I don't.

I thought the idea of the show was interesting and watched 3 or 4 or the episodes.  However, I realized that I was fairly indifferent about it when I didn't even bother to TIVO it.  If I happened to catch it on, I'd watch it, but wouldn't go out of my way to find it.  Unlike Carnivale or Deadwood, I can't really work up any indignation over Louie's demise.  I feel like they had a chance to give it a shot and weren't able to ramp up quick enough creatively to develop an audience.  They even showed the episodes out of sequence in what I assume was an effort to hook viewers early on.As for Norton, it's rarely wise to single out critics to attack, let alone someone who doesn't really have any significant clout.  I can't imagine how he thought he would come out looking good or changing anyone's opinion about the show by sending the letter.  I especially enjoyed her comment about middle schoolers and a favorite color, because that's essentially what he was trying to do, change someone's personal taste (insert Jeffrey Dahmer joke here).

Is that the only reason to cancel the show?Jimmy's trying to bring the show back is pretty pathetic. I also was rubbed the wrong way when he read a bad review of the show. He really took it personally. I love Jimmy and find him to be hilarious on O&A and his other apperances but Lucky Louie really wasn't that good; in my opinion at least. I think the best parts of the show were the scenes with Rich. But that would only be a couple minutes long and they didn't really use Jimmy well. The scene with Rich and Kim was great "Whip it out right here and I'll blow you" Jimmy is much better than that show, but he doesn't even see it. He's so money!

What can he hit big with? As per his own admittance he's hideous to look at and is not much of an actor.I would hate to see him go the Colin Quinn route - and be involved in 10 different flops. For me its a double edge sword.  I wanted the show to fail, cause I hate Norton, but I wanted the show to blow up,cause I hate Norton and wanted him to leave O&A.  They will only mention it for a few minutes, cause Norton is a bitch and can't handle the fact that he lost his chance to blow up.He is a sad man and I hope he gets advanced AIDS from a hooker, so we can have Bill Burr and Patrice add something good to the show again.  ESD 4 LIFE

Not for anything, but Frankenberry was 100% correct.  Norton is sophmoric and yes the show has followed suit. That doesn't mean the show is better off.  If thats your bag, then its cool with me.  I personally think the show was better when it fed off of Op and Ak.  And everyone on wakbag and the other sites have names for him because they are all mid 20 and mid 30 year olds that are still reliving their asshole highschool years.  Its amazing how much I have started to dislike the show in the last 12 months.  Wait Ron and Fes have been on for 12 months.  That is strange  ESD 4 LIFE

You should've listened more during the WBUF days man. It was just as funny sans Norton.  I'm not saying op and ant aren't funny without norton. I just think its easy to characterize Norton as having one line of jokes and that's it because the show has taking his humor and made it that way.  Through the fans and 5 hour shows they've made his humor a formula to extend the show.  I think he was and still is original.  If you don't like him, it's your opinion, but I don't think he would be this far if wasn't talented and somewhat unique.

My favorite part of the show used to be storytime. When they'd just go for like an hour telling stories from their respective pasts, and then comment on it. They were always hilarious. I feel like they've gotten away from that because people's attention spans can't take it or something.

Norton is great in bits and pieces, but all day everyday is too much. And I don't think Jimmy would know "esoteric" if it bit him on the ankle.

Same with Chappelle, except Jimmy doesn't have a nervous breakdown like a pussy and blame it on the social stuctures of the world. I think that was my point. Norton is great in bits and pieces, but all day everyday is too much. And I don't think Jimmy would know "esoteric" if it bit him on the ankle.  I disagree.   I think the show hasn't played off of him well, and its kind of mimicing him.  I still think norton is great.  Not being esoteric?   His movie quotes and references are pretty out there.  He even admits he doesn't know pop culture.  When I watch movies and shows I always recognize quotes and things I overlooked before he mentioned them.

The last few weeks isn't his best stuff, but I'm sure he'll go back to it. He's probably still just feeling the rejection from the show being cancelled.
