The Terra Nova scores came in today.

<p>I know there are a lot of parents here. And some teachers as well.</p><p>My son's Terra Nova numbers came in the mail today. My question is, how important are these numbers? Is this score a fair indication of his inteligence? How well he is doing in school? Is this, along with his report card and teacher comments a fair indication of his intelligence, or lack there of?</p><p>He scored the identical numbers last year also.</p>

I had a math teacher in 8th grade whose name was Terranova. He taught us how to cheat on our taxes, be a slum lord, read a racing form and sexually harass French and Spanish teachers. He was the best teacher I ever had.<br />

My kid is just finishing his Sophomore year, and I've never heard of this test either. He takes SOL's (Standards of Learning tests) several times a year for different courses. They are required to pass, even if you have good grades during the rest of the year.

I took that shit when I was in fourth grade and my understanding was that it didn't mean anything. It was just prep for the ELAs... which also didn't mean anything.

When I went to school, we didn't have any of this nonsense!!!! Just had to worry about the SAT's!!!! Or in my case....the draft board!!!!!!!<br />
