Can their coverage be any more horrible of late. I recently caught the Red Sox vs. Jays matchup on EPSN and I had to put on the other team's home channel bc it was better balanced and informational all around than ESPN's coverage.

On top of just plain bad play by play calling, they interupted the game no matter what was going on to show every single bat of Barry Bonds bc he's 2 away from Ruth? The first time I thought it was a joke at first bc Halladay was in a bases loaded jam and they cut away for a 1st inning bases empty 2 out at bat for Barry. He lined out hard to the second baseman and they came back to the sports desk of Basebal Tonight (another story in itself) and they said "Barry's a little off right now bc he took that foul ball off the head in BP earlier that day"!!!! They made excuses for him hitting a hard shot that just happened to be at an infielder bc he didn't hit a homerun?!! These are supposed to be our baseball gurus?? Bill Pito should be shot! Oh and we didn't find out what happened in the game until after the commercial break that Halladay got out of the jam with a double play ball.

Great coverage ESPN!! Thank God for NESN!!!

He's the one who has a problem, I simply comment when I run into his bullshit.

As for the train wreck that is Baseball Tonight, can anyone even follow it? I can imagine the boardroom meeting discussion, "Baseball can be boring, especially for the fringe fan. So came up with a schizo format that will spice things up and keep fans on their seats!" I'm sure the guy who came up with it probably was a fringe fan himself as well. What a fucking mess of a show! 90% of the show is individual highlights of homeruns or diving plays with no overall score breakdowns or league impact analysis. I've watched at times and they don't even cover a majority of games. I live in the NY metro area, I really don't need another channel dedicated to the likes of both New York teams, Boston, Barry Bonds and whoever hit a homerun that day. Who won the fucking games you assholes, and how? If not for the bottom line, almost all ESPN programming would be useless.

They use the announcers of the home team, so if the yankees are on the road, you won't hear John Sterling. Also, Dibs and Kennedy, break in on various games on their show, and comment on the announcers, which I find pretty funny sometimes.

XM doesn't have it's own broadcast team for baseball games, they just take the home team's AM announcers and simulcast. It just sounds crisper and is on about a 3 second delay.
