<p>I guess tehey didn't learn their lesson with Willy Wonka that newer and "darker" doesn't mean better. They are remaking "Clash of the Titans". Why? Got me.</p><p><a href="http://www.darkhorizons.com/news06/060501i.php" target="_blank">Maybe it's a pre-emptive piss on Ray Harryhausen's grave.</a></p><p>Fuck. </p>

people tell me that i am nuts for liking these movies. to me its the fact that it looks fake is what makes me enjoy it.
plus, how was the remake of the 10 commandments better than the original?
Where is the threes company remake?

I read it as well as "Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator" and most of Roald Dahl's books in my childhood. I can list numerous books that I liked that were made into films I liked, along with good books that made bad films and bad books that made good films. Let's compare films to films. It was such a great movie!</p><p>They should at least wait until the actor that played the main character is dead - or has at least ended their acting career - to do a remake of this type. Hell, Kurt Russell is still doing action movies!</p><p>Nothing against Gerard Butler, but I hope this plan dies early.</p><p>Butler seems like a cool character actor, but you're right...EFNY is one of those movies that does not need to be remade at all. And like you said, Russell could just do another <em>Escape From</em>... flick! He looks badass in <em>Grindhouse</em>.</p>

When the well runs dry for comic book films or remakes of Japanese horror flicks, you can bet Hollywood will dig through the old vault and find some classic they can squeeze a little more profit out of.

I am.... not speechless... but shocked that this is a story. I had to check the date to see if it was an April Fool's joke.
But it's not.
Two-time Academy Award nominee Edward Norton has signed on to play Bruce Banner, who transforms into Marvel's renowned, larger-than-life Super Hero, The Hulk in Marvel Studios' action-packed, new big screen adaptation of The Incredible Hulk (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=19905)
The Hulk came out in 2003. 4 years later they're planning another one? That, according to the article, is NOT a sequel?
This is a ridiculous turn around time. Has there been a quicker one??

I really liked the last Hulk movie, and I always hoped there would be a sequel with even more action. Even though this is a new cast (regrettably), it says, "The story unfolds when the pursuit for The Hulk - the world's most misunderstood, primal force of fury - heats up, finding Bruce Banner on the run attempting to cure his condition before his pursuers capture him." Maybe it can kinda be considered a sequel, then.
The Hulk being my favorite comic book character, I am hopeful.

Variety reports that Paramount is developing a musical remake of the 1984 film Footloose and will develop it for "High School Musical" star Zac Efron and director Kenny Ortega (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=21862)
The only person I could image is somewhat excited about this is Kenny Loggins.

I agree that the new Hulk movie as proposed is not a sequel but nor a remake. It's sort of similar to Batman Begins, which is not a remake of the 1989/1990 Batman.
They're saying we have a great character, we didn't do well the first time, so we're just going to have a new movie with this character, and it's separate from the first movie.

One thing the German filmmaker wanted to stress and make clear is that his next movie The Bad Lieutenant starring Nicolas Cage is NOT a remake of the 1992 Abel Ferrara of the same name
Well then call it something else!!

They're showing the remake of that movie " Gloria " right now on FX and it is one of the biggest pieces of shit ever.
I remember enjoying the original when I was younger, although I'd probably hate it now, but this one is barely watchable ( but I will finish it since I've invested 1 1/2 already ).
I think that accent on Sharon Stone is making it intolerable.

Is there not one original idea left in Hollywood? Really -- another worthless remake?
What next -- a remake of Hazel?

That's cool. I guess I didn't really consider it a "Hollywood" comic movie. Since it was a Darkhorse comic and not really mainstream at the time. It could have been worse because the studio was dead set against Del Toro and Pearlman. Mignola basically told them if they weren't in it he wasn't letting them make it
