Then I clicked on it and read the above post and realized that tripe is probably the weirdest thing I've ever eaten. Although as far as flavor and consistancy goes, I would vote for fried liver.

i enjoy calf's liver but still feel it's a little wierd... i like the taste but the texture is kind've spongy for lack of a better word. obviously the tender the better and the fried onions help make it enjoyable

The weirdest thing I ever ate was Black Bear ravioli in a mushroom cream sauce, served by the Rattlesnake Ranch in Parsippany, NJ. MY ex & I were looking for somewhere different to eat & I had heard this place had out of the ordinary dishes. I think she had breaded & fried gator strips or something like that. Then proceeded to go home & cry because she felt bad.

Anyway, the bear was kinda gamey & an odd choice to put in ravioli...but the mushroom sauce was fantastic.

Yeah, I've had the odd bear, rattlesnake, etc., but the most disgusting has to be scrapple. All you Pennsylvania f**ks tell me how that is in anyway enjoyable.

I understand not letting anything go to waste, but that's taking it too far. It was grey for God's sake. Head cheese is filet mignon in comparison.

I ate it on a dare and ended up going vegetarian for three years. Nearly vegan. No meat of anykind. The only animal product was cheese.

Anyone ever have Irish blood pudding? it is pigs blood wrapped like a sausage and cut into round silver dollar size pieces. It is the best. it is good either way, black or white, it comes in those colors, so no I dont need Annie Defranco.

That does remind me, I did have blood sausage at an argentine bbq. It wasn't so bad, but it's a taste that you never forget. I shan't be having that again.

When I was on vacation in Sweden a few years back I had the pleasure of dining on reindeer. It was quite possibly the tastiest meal I've ever had, even better than filet mignon.

My dad, a Lawyer, (I know this is reminiscent of To Kill a Mockingbird, but it really happens in rural areas) used to get paid off in trade. He had clients that would cook dinner for us and bring it over and eat with us. Since my dad thought it was rude to not eat with them I have eaten some weird shit: Possum Stew, Squirrel Pie, Crow, Crayfish Stew, Groundhog, Cottonmouth, rattlesnake, and Rhubarb(a fucking Weed).

My dad drew the line at one of his hillbilly clients inviting us over to a pre sweet 16 party to enjoy plecenta from the birthday girl's birth.

The worst I have had though was Haggis

live snail in a tokyo sushi bar - had no choice - there was a bowl of them on top of the sushi bar. the chef purposly knocked on off in front of me, put a toothpick in it, and handed it to me. f'ing with the gaijin... i chugged 3 beers to wash it down.

Now that I have thought about it I remember eating frogs legs when I was a teenager. And yes, they did taste like chicken.

I have had snails and frog before..what strikes me is how similar the texture between snake meat, scallops, frog, and snails is when masticated..chewy with little crunchy bits.
