Coachella, CA

Was he despondent that Phish broke up and wouldn't be preforming at the festival?

I'll take break from Yankee-hating to say I'm sorry to hear this.

A sad end to a troubled life.

He wore #57 most of his career, but during one of his stints he had to wear #58 for a little while because someone (maybe Roberto Kelly?) was wearing #57.

R.I.P. Steve.

"Hello, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms? I have an alcohol question: Who was in the very first Lite Beer commercial? I say it was Bubba Smith but I have a friend who thinks it was...Hello?...Hello?!"
In recent years, he owned an energy drink company in Arizona.
"I just saw Steve last winter when his son was pitching against my son," Scioscia said. "Everything was looking up for him and he looked great.

This is even more tragic if he REALLY was getting his shit together at last.
