I've always liked Bruse Springsteen. I remember buying The River when It first came out (pretty expensive for an 8th grader considering it's a double album).

It's still a great album.

Just got back from the third show of this stand.

A very 'Last Waltz' look to the stage, 19 musicians, ah it's all over the web so...

Anyway the music is pretty cool, some very old songs about old americana/dustbowl/and a bunch of songs that will come off as political whether the intent was so or not.

As to the fans, I could never figure out blind following of anyone, much less a band. Springsteen has said he's got nothing left to prove, he's at a state where he can record what he wants, and when he found out about this group of musicians he recorded them and him doing these songs and threw them on a disc. New music = new audience for me, the classic E st. band stuff has been discussed, it's great it'a lame, his solo stuff a la Ghost of Tom Joad and Devils and Dust, some of it blows me away, some bores me to tears. And seeing aging rockers belting out a best of revue rarely hold interest for me.

I can take Bruce but going to these shows, many/most of his fans... ack.

I've never gotten Springsteen, or his working-class hero tripe. Which just goes to show Alice and I have very divergent musical tastes (I was the one who said mean things about Eric Clapton, who I also can't stand)

Well, I think it was because I made fun of "tears in Heaven for his kid dying.

That's a lot of old school punk. I don't really have much of an opinion of it. Except I don't like Nirvana or The Clash. But I do like The Police and REM. But not really enough to call myself a serious fan.

For those that care, Springsteen is going to be bringing his Seeger Sessions show to the PNC Bank Arts Center for 2 nights in June. Christ, that place is gonna be packed!

I've been wearing out that OCMS album on my freakin IPod...
I wish they would come out with something new, I think they released an EP if I'm not mistaken, called "Eutaw"...but I think its mainly a lot of stuff that was on OCMS

Their live session from Bonnarroo they played on XM 13 was PHENOMENAL....

No offense to you Springsteen fans, but I literally - and I'm not joking here - I literally think I'd rather some form of intestinal flu than listen to a single minute of this album. The puking, the diarrhea, all of it I'd choose over this.

I would just listen to it for the old folky songs...which i like, but I'd skip the protest songs...
