The guy didn't exactly produce high art, but there's something cool about it. How the picture just kind of materialiazes before your eyes in a half hour.

I was having trouble sleeping last night and I caught an episode on PBS. Don't know whether it was his voice or the painting, but I drifted right off. Very soothing.

TV Valium.

This is such a great show. I own a season on
DVD and the painting tips really work, but the show's true value is
that its such a decompression to watch. That guy's gifts go way
beyond painting. I heart Bob Ross forever. its hard to stay
awake during one 25 minute show, but not bc theyre boring...its like a
visual meditation...amazing stuff.

Yea I would really love some DVDs of Bob Ross, he's one of my
heroes! That is so cool some of you picked up on this too, I thought it
was just me! I used to go into a Buddha-like trance every show, its the
best
therapy. I fucking BAWLED when he died...
When I worked as a house painter, we would goof on Bob's little sayings and mannerisms while we worked.

As an artist myself, I always admired his ability to produce a great painting in just a half-hour. To me, it's still amazing.

I need to get a DVD of Bob Ross and just learn some of his techniques. Great Artist!

I like the episode of the boondocks where the one kid takes paining lessons from the 'bob ross' type guy because he's been putting graffiti on neighborhood houses. The episode ends with Bob Ross outrunning the cops in his station wagon.

It's the only episode of that show that i've seen, though.

I really enjoyed watching him paint. He made it look effortless and easy. He started with a blank canvas and 20 mins later he had a beautiful landscape.

Cool that Bob Ross was featured in Dave's "Jack Donovan" story.

The line was: "Bob Ross never made art like this, mommy."

I've noticed that Bob Ross comes up like that. You see him on TV and then at dinner your Aunt brings him up and then the next day you read his obituary in an old newspaper at a garage sale.

I loved watching him paint trees. He would just dab the fan brush and all of a sudden, a beautiful pine tree appeared. Rest in peace Bob Ross.

Hard to believe that anyone that uses the phrase "happy brush" did a 20 year stint in the USAF.

They still show it on WLIW and some other PBS station on Cablevision here in Westchester.

Comes on Weds on WLIW at like 10:00, 12:30 and 2:30 or something.

Then they have this other PBS station, not really on demand but shows like blocks of the same kinda shows, and they show it on there on like Thursday & friday a few times a day ( same episode each day ).

I have the built in TiVo on my cable box and I had recorded everyone that came on from October 2005 - May 2006. I just had to delete them all because they were taking up like 80% of my storage. I wanted t otransfer them to videotape but got lazy.

My only complaint is that they keep showing what they call Season 22 I think but its obviously epsiodes from all seasons because you can see he's much younger in some shows.

Now they just keep repeating the Season 22. Kind of a bummer because even though they're all repeates these are ones I've seen most recently.

I think he did something like 250+ sgows and these humps keep showing the same 22 or so.

That dude is way relaxing.

I loved that show. Being an amature artist in my own right, I learned a few techniques from him. The guy had talent and even as a kid, found his style amusing when the volume was turned up. lol
