It amazes me how much I get into the World Cup when it comes around, and yet can't get into soccer the rest of the time. I keep saying I'm going to drag my ass to a NY/NJ MetroStars game one of these days, and maybe that will turn me one way or the other once and for all.

The MLS is growing, but it's still years away from being a hit. I follow the EPL and on occasion some of the games from Mexico or Italy.
Those who hate "real football" are clueless..they probably never gave it a chance.

I gave Soccer a chance, but it's Unwatchable! But then again, I can't watch a Basketball game either. But soccer is even WORSE! You can go both halves and NEVER see a goal! No thanks. If I wanted to be bored to tears, I'd tape Don and Mike.

I was at the US vs Jamaica game in Foxboro. Great game! I've had a hard time getting into MLS simply because it's hard to find on TV. And as I understand it, the US vs Jamaica game was pre-empted for the us attack on afgahnistan.

Yes indeed. "Becks" of Manchester United is married to "Posh", and they have a son named "Brooklyn"! It's true!
As for the World Cup, of course I will be watching and rooting for The USA, with Sweden, England and Germany as my other favorites. I always respected Germany because of Franz Beckenbauer, who built their National team and played for the Cosmos back in the 70's, along with Pele.
Now those games were fun!

Absolutely! I'm a MetroStars supporter and a West Ham United supporter in the EPL (got a home jersey and a scarf). <P>
I went to the US-Jamaica game last Thursday and stayed for the MetroStars-AC Milan game. I usually go to 4 or 5 MetroStars games a year. Maybe more this year since most are on Saturday. <P>
I saw West Ham play Nottingham Forest at Upton Park when I was in London a few years ago. I saw the Cosmos play the Toronto Blizzard a long time ago. <P>
I was glued to the TV for the last World Cup. I'm going to try to watch the US games live this year but it's going to be tough. <P>

That's amazing! My neighbor is a HUGE West Ham supporter, I thought he was the only one around! LOL! One time he let me check out the West Ham CD, with many versions of "I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles", their theme song. We watch many matches together, so I know about guys like DiCanio and Cole. Me? I have always liked Liverpool.

Does anyone else hate the new US kit? I think the home jersey's are ugly. The blue away jerseys are ok, but i think the red was better.

Overseas clubs(i lump them all together regardless of league) I like Celtic & Ajax
For MLS i'd have to go with Metrostars
