From what I read, it's supposed to have something with the way flies see. There is a pretty equal split between experts and regular folk alike, as to whether it really works. All of the websites I've seen said it's most common at restaurants, and they always say "US restaurants".

A friend of mine had her debit card stolen. In all, she's (for now) out around $1500. To make matters worse, it all happened days before her direct deposit went through, so her entire paycheck was gobbled up by the overdrafts. Her rent and other bills are due, and she's flat broke until the bank can get her money back to her.

She found out one of the charges was at CVS. She went there, and they had a photo of the transaction. The person with her card is one of best "friends". She has identified the bitch to the police, yet the cop in charge of the investigation says it may take a month before they make an arrest!!!

What kind of bullshit is this?

Most departments do not require an officer to finish non-arrest reports before the end of the shift. It is entirely possible that the call came in at the end of the work week (usually 4 days), and that the officer was unable to finish the report until the next work week started. It's also possible that the officer had other more important reports to finish. And it's also possible that the officer was lazy and delayed on finishing the report. Just saying, there is a lot of layers to law enforcement, and most civilians don't know just how long things can take sometimes.

All I'm getting at is that in an investigation, an officer would certainly assess how the principals were acting, but an false arrest is a violation of civil rights under the 4th amendment, so they wouldn't be able to arrest someone just because the reporting party was in hysterics. I understand that you probably know the victim well and her story is most likely true, but the officer can't make the decision solely on things like that.

Why won't my Gmail stay logged in? I set up my comp with Windows 7 over the past few days. I use Gmail Notifier in Firefox. It sits on the lower left corner of the window and lets me know if I have mail. But it won't work if Gmail won't stay logged in.
