My good buddy and old skool Ronfez.net poster Grim Sanity got a hold of a PSP and sold it to me at a great price. Thanks man if you're lurking, which I know you're not because you could give 2 shits about this board.

So anyway, just wanted the opinion of other PSP owners in here on good games to get for it. He sold it to me with Coded Arms and last night I went out and bought this Capcom collection thing with like 20 old Capcom arcade games on it. Fucking amazing graphics. The thing plays their movies, MP3's, views pics, has less than conveinent web browser and wireless card built in. It's amazing.

I detest sports games and racing games. So please don't even bother to recommend those. Looking for good Action/Adventure games, good RPGs and maybe a puzzle game or 2.

Thanks.

Also, has anyone played the WWE game for it? I don't watch the show but I was playing my PS2 wrestling games for like a year after I stopped watching. They're fun and I made an assload of characters. Thanks.

The GTA series never impressed me.

What firmware version do you have? You can check by going to the settings menu, then selecting System Settings, then selecting System Information. Check what it says by System Software. Depending on what version you have, you may or may not be able to do many things, such as emulation of systems like NES, Genesis and Super Nintendo.

As far as actual PSP games go, if you like puzzle games the first game you must purchase is Lumines. Addicitive as hell. If you like the classics, there's also Midway Arcade Treasures, which includes Mortal Kombat 1,2 and 3, Paperboy, Marble Madness, Gauntlet, Joust and Rampage amond other games. Mega Man Powered Up is a remake of the original Mega Man with updated graphics. Mega Man Maverick Hunter X is a remake of Mega Man X. Daxter is an action platformer that's getting great reviews. There's a new Syphon Filter game that's getting real good reviews too. There's a Splinter Cell game too, but it got bad reviews. PSP has been weak on RPGs so far, the best one is X-Men Legends 2: Rise of Apocalypse.

Most new games will force you to run later versions of PSP firmware so there is no point in worrying about not updating your PSP.

I recently picked up Metal Gear Acid 2 and Im enjoying it. Its basically a turn based strategy game setup as a card game. I know, sounds lame..but its fun.

I liked the Raw vs. Smackdown game alot, but the load time is unfuckingbearable...same with the new poker game...I know you said you don't like sports games, but Hot Shots Golf is like video game crack...great game play...I loved GTA, and that was just with pretty much just driving around and doing jumps the whole time...I'd like some advice too...I'm probably using only 1% of the PSP's potential.

I've been searching the web for that info in reviews and I can't find it. The most I found was that you can take your PS2 data back and forth from the PSP, but not sure if you can create wrestlers in the game.

That's the only reason I get those games. I create a wrestler and take them through the Season mode. But I don't own the PS2 verison of the game and don't want to get it. I want to be able to create wrestlers on the PSP.

moe the psp version of smackdown vs raw does let you create a wrestler but i should warn u its so annoying u may just want the ps2 version and copy him him to your psp. on the psp every individual option takes at least 5 seconds to load so just picking what kind of tights you want him to have can take a very long time if you want to see all your options.

and the ability to now have portable porn makes the machine worthevery penny.

OK, thanks for the warning. I really have zero interest in getting the PS2 version. Maybe I'll just get the PSP verision and see how annoyed I am after I'm done trying to make 1 character.

I was unable to get my PSP to accept the WEP key to get on my home wireless network, so I'll search on there for the answers.

Also, Metal Slug for the PSP? Where do I sign up?
