Rooster, I'm a little confused with your military experience.
Were you an Army Ranger and now you're in the National Guard?
I'm just wondering because I was thinking about joining the Air Force and possibly doing Air National Guard later on when I have a career. Which would you recommend; Reserves or Guardsmen and what is the difference?

Hey Man...
I was active duty and I am an Army Ranger.
I am now in the National Guard.
The Difference between the National Guard and the reserve is that one is Federal and the other is State funded.
I am not in the Airforce, but I will say that the Airforce is outstanding!
They are the ones flying the Air support for the ground troops as I type this.
I suggest going active for a while then switching to the Reserves.
The Air Force is mostly reserve as far as aI know...because air power is an asset that must be easily called by the Federal government for deployment on short notice.
I am not a recruiter, but I am an Officer and if you can get into ROTC and go into the military as an Officer...the options oustanding.
email me if you want more help...

Rooster, I'm 16 so I won't be joining right away.
Every man in my immediate family is an airman so I will definitely join the Air Force at some capacity. If I can't make the academy, I will almost definitely join ROTC.
