Aloha all! Yes we are back, but jet-lagged. I'm looking forward to reading all of the old posts that we missed in the past two weeks, but do you realize just how much you posted. That's pages and pages. :)

It's good to be back, particularly since we seemed to be suffering from some Brady-style luck in Hawaii. One hint...I got some stitches, so it must have been fun, right? :)

I wish it was that cool EMB. The wife and I were watching the sunset on Waikiki beach, and she notices a bunch of trash on some rocks (a breakwater type thing).

She picks up a bunch of cans and bottles and puts them in a plastic bag. She spies some pretty cockatoos or whatever kind of pretty birds on a guy's perch, so I take the trash bag while she looks at the birds. I am putting the bag into a trash can, but it doesn't quite fit into the opening. I push the bag in, then push a little harder, and finally give it a good shove and notice a slight pain in my middle finger. I look down to discover that I had almost taken the tip off, with a large gash and blood pouring out.

We rush around and she grabs a handful of napkins from McDonalds. Hop in a cab to the hospital (even in an emergency, Hawaii cabbies are laid back and drive slowly). The nurse says "That's not just a cut, the meat is coming out." I get 8 stitches in my fingertip, a tetanus/diptheria shot, and antiobotics.

It was last Friday, so it has now been a week. The worst part is that I can't get it wet, and visiting a tropical island, you can see how that can be a hindrance. I just slapped a trash bag on my hand so I could go swimming.

Mostly embarrassing when everybody says "what happened to your hand?", and rather annoying trying to take a shower. Other than that, it was a fantastic time.

The wife wound up limping for several days after she fell on some coral while we were trying to snorkel, but I'll let her fill you in on that.

It's good to be home, but on the whole I'd rather be in Maui. :)

See what happens when you try to be the good samaritan and throw littered trash in it's proper receptables.....it bites you back! My god Thunderlips what a way to spend your honeymoon. Getting napkins from a McDonalds, driving with a slow Hawaiian cabbie, and spending it in a Hawaiian hospital. I hope everything else went off without any glitches. I'm really sorry! Now I'll remember to stay away from Waikiki Beach. Plus, there's always Honeymoon #2. ;)
