I quit smoking just before Thanksgiving and was cold turkey until the New Year. I have relapsed slightly though recently, out with friends, drinking, sometimes after sex etc, but nowhere near as often as I used to, never during the day while I'm at work or anything like that. It amounts to maybe, MAYBE, a pack a week, whereas it used to be a pack a day. But that's not really the thing. Since I started smoking again, sometimes, and it's not every time I burp, but it happens often enough that you wouldn't say it was a rare occurence, sometimes when I burp a little puff of smoke comes out. I never noticed it during the previous 15 years of smoking, and now all of a sudden I'm Puff the Magic Dragon. What, as the kids say, the fuck?!

That used to happen to me when I smoked pot. I just thought it
had something to do with me attempting to pull in as much smoke as
possible. I have seen it happen to other people too, but only
with pot.

Apparently you've forgotten how to smoke, and are swallowing rather than inhaling.

Or maybe your breath is so minty fresh, when you burp a little frost comes out.

Actually the smoke puffs that are coming out are smoke signals from your innards begging you to stop again.

I would chalk it up to your body getting rid of the toxins from smoking....
