LADY TERPS...NATIONAL CHAMPS!!

Four years ago, the Lady Terps won exactly 10 games...

Now they just won a National Title, beating Duke in OT after being down by 13 (thirteen) and looking dead through most of the game...

This is great! I'm really not an uber fan of women's basketball, but this is great for school pride! And beating those child molesters at Duke is always great!

Scary thing is, our team is composed of really nothing but freshmen and sophomores...look out the next couple of years...

Only downside is now I have to buy T shirts and hats for people...but its not really that much of a downside...

He never wanted to play in the NIT this year anyway...we went last year, and this year they were going to decline the invite, but someone in the athletic department already committed them to being in there if they were in it instead of the real tourney....some speculate that because the NCAA now owns the NIT, someone got a hold of Gary and told him if he didn't go in it this year, if he was on the bubble next year, he would be in the bad graces of the Committee

And I spoke too soon about the lack of rioting....turns out thousands flooded 1 after the win, took the cops completely by surprise.

The thing is, its not the fact that all the students are gathered together, its the fact they really have nowhere else to go except for 1 to celebrate things (that's where all the bars/restuarants are) and the Cops have to keep them from blocking the road...its a MAJOR throughfare, and it inevitably leads to confrontations, like last night...although it CLEARLY wasn't nearly as bad as 02 (That was really a riot...i would hesitate to even call this one a riot)

You would think at a major public university where the mean SAT score among the students is like 1300, SOMEONE would have figured some sort of alternative by now rather than having a human flood on 1 after every game...
