If you listened to today's show, you heard that Bobo created a portrait of Fez for his birthday gift. A little bit of context -- In 2004, Fez decided to grow out his beard for the entire NFL season, shaving it off once the Buccaneers either won the SuperBowl or were eliminated. Fez was able to grow quite a large bushy beard, and pictures were taken of Fez before his beard was shaved on air. Bobo based his portrait on one of those pictures. Also, some of Fez's beard hair was saved for Bobo to incorporate into his painting. So without further ado, here's the portrait:

For comparison, here's the original picture:

As Ron said on the air, he really does capture Fez.

Here's Bobo with the portrait:

Here's the portrait being presented:

That's pretty fucking cool. It's one of those gifts that shows you gave a fuck when you thought of the person.

Nicely done Bobo.

Great pics, mikeyboy, but the portrait is even more impressive in person. Bobo did a phenomenal job capturing Fez with his painting, and adding his actual hair to it makes it come alive that much more.

Bobo is a true artist and an absolute mensch.

Thanks 4 all the kind words, it was a lotta fun, a labor of love. Thanks to Mikeyboy for taking the original photograph which has been taped to my easle for 14 months! Here's a pic in natural light which is more represetitive of the image. I wanted it to look like something in a comic book, since Fez digs comix. Handling the hair was kinda weird, but I felt less & less like Dr. Mengele the more I worked at setting the hair into the acrylic gel medium that is holding it in place. The funniest part was giving the painting a trim w/ barber's scissors after the hair was set and affixed cause it was a lil scruffy! ha ha ha... (BTW, I had Fez's ENTIRE beard and still have the tips of his handlebar mustache) The origin of this whole concept was a discussion we had on the air at JFK about 18 months ago about my plans 2 B cremated & have my ashes mixed into a self portrait after my death. I couldn't let Fez's wonderful beard go to waste!

When I first saw the photo of the portrait, I didn't realise it was based on that particular photo of Fez. It's a great likeness! I remember that show from JFK. I was wondering if you had made it.

The smaller versions of the portrait do not do it justice. I am in awe of your work, Bobo.
